Assists the Site Manager in the execution of site construction activities and ensuring compliance requirements for: the project design, contract agreements, timeline achievements, economic project objectives, safety, environment and quality; site sustainability and for federal, state and local laws with the support of the site construction team. In the case of smaller scale projects the Site Coordinator may act as Site Manager.


  • Lead, champion and monitors safety program and policies project wide.
  • Assists Site Manager prior to the start of construction activities, reviews and verifies the completeness of all documentation to ensure compliance standards are met in design and permit requirements.
  • With the direction of the Site Manager, manage the handover of the work site to the contractor(s) for logistical planning of the site.
  • Partners with health, safety, environment and quality (HSEQ) to implement and adhere to the safety and health requirements that ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations.
  • Coordinates/organizes the construction team to supervise the execution of contractor project activities and evaluate construction techniques in terms of quality, safety, timeline schedule and cost efficiencies.
  • With the Site Manager, updates and coordinates with the project planner the construction timeline to coincide with the General Time Schedule; notifies project manager of any delays that could affect contract milestones.

  • With the Site Manager, coordinates and performs reporting activities that monitor, track and detail site activities and areas of importance such as cost overruns, deviations in design, permissions, schedule/timeline and stakeholder issues.

  • Monitors progress of site activities, evaluating tasks to eliminate waste to meet critical points on the schedule/timeline; recommends corrective actions to ensure the project remains within the critical path.

  • Manage and maintain relations at the site level with supplier/contractor/local authorities, keeping the project manager informed.

  • Interfaces with other project team members for the management of the delivery plan, in order to match the supply/material arrival on site with activity progress.

  • Manages the contracts for construction and assembly activities ensuring they meet the contract requirements.

  • Assists the Site Manager, provides monthly records of expended costs of all measurement unit price contracts evaluating quantities of material and services used on site; and provides a cost forecast to completion of the project.

  • By direction of the Site Manager, implements and adheres to the Quality Control Plan related to construction activities with the support of the discipline site supervisors and the operational excellence engineer.

  • Manages the Non-Conformity process during construction activities.

* Support the PM, together with the Site Manager and Commissioning Manager, in the punch-list definition, identifying with O&M all the remaining activities on site to be completed in order to achieve the Provisional and Final Hand Over.


  • Provides input based on lessons learned to the construction team for use future contract negotiations including pre-bid and pre-construction meetings.

  • In case of large or complex projects, position could be responsible for solely managing the execution of works related to a part of the construction activities. Depending on the project, position can be entrusted to a portion of the cluster/site or to a part of the activities/contracts to be performed.

  • Other duties as assigned.


  • In depth knowledge of industrial construction practices, power plant engineering, plant operation requirements, and environmental and safety requirements

* Experienced in contractor performance monitoring in the areas of safety, quality, environmental conformance, and project schedule
* Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and projects scheduling software (MS Project)
* Knowledge of SAP and AutoCAD
* Excellent organizational and detail orientation skills

  • Interpersonal skills with an ability to work cross functionally as well as externally with contractors and vendors.
  • Strong customer service orientation both internally and externally
  • Adept analytical and problem solving skills
  • Experience with international company will be considered as preferential.
  • Proficiency in languages other than English (preferably Italian or Spanish)

  • BS Degree in Civil/Electrical/Mechanical Engineering or related field or equivalent experience supervising a large utility scale power generation construction projects
  • A minimum of 5 years' experience as Assistant Project/Site Manager, General Superintendent/Supervisor or similar technical role in Engineering or Construction Companies
  • Experience in the construction of power plant, HV/MV substations, or Oil & Gas;
  • Excellent verbal and written, and analytical skills
  • Strong leadership and team building skills
