The Site Quantity Surveyor is a technical expert for his/her discipline. They review,
check and report all cost related to construction activities performed by the
subcontractors for the discipline in the area allocated to them.
They work under the direction of the Subcontract Manager from whom they receive their
They consult with the site superintendent responsible for their work package in relation
to technical/quality issues.
The Quantity Surveyors collect, monitor and report in a technical and commercial
capacity, either directly or indirectly, all cost submitted by subcontractors on the site or,
to be precise, during the construction phase. They are the main persons responsible for
checking that the subcontractors survey are in line with all contractually agreed
? execute quantity survey on site as stipulated in the subcontract and in internal
? document quantity survey in a traceable manner.
? prepare quantity survey templates,
? prepare physical quantity surveys, if necessary,
? perform plausibility check of quantities stated in the invoicing documentation for
civil work submitted by subcontractor,
? clarify inconsistencies,
? approve subcontractor's quantity survey,
? prepare change requests toward client and subcontractor based on verified
? provide supporting documents for evaluation of work not yet completed.
