Title: Sr Software Licensing Analyst


Qualifications:Information Technology department is hiring a Sr System Analyst - Software Licensing Analyst, to join its newly formed Software License Management group within the Office of the CIO. As a member of this new group, the individual hired will play a key role is establishing and communicating new processes and procedures focused on the management of software licenses. They will be responsible for developing and enhancing methodologies, policies and practices for software license management in line with best practices and practical experience as part of a cycle of continuous improvement and compliance across the IT organization. In addition, the candidate must have the desired qualifications listed below: - A Bachelor's degree preferably in Business Administration, Information Systems, Economics, Engineering or related discipline with at least 3 years' work experience OR - Associates degree with relevant technical certification with at least 4 years demonstrated work experience in Software Asset Management - SAM certification a plus (e.g. IAITAM's, Certified Software Asset Management (CSAM) or Certified IT Asset Manager (CITAM) ). - Strong skills and experience with the MS Office or similar suite. Word, Excel, PowerPoint required; Microsoft Project, Visio desired. - Strong knowledge and experience with software asset life cycle management processes and License Use Rights - Experience with license management and optimization tools, software discovery tools (e.g. MS SCCM or similar) Strong knowledge of software licensing terms and conditions, agreements and maintenance contracts with special focus on Oracle, IBM and Microsoft - Excellent oral and written communication. Must be able to plan, organize and manage meetings. Must be able to translate functional to technical information. Must be able to develop documentation that will be consumed by users of diverse backgrounds and skills. - Experience in change management, including organization and culture change a plus. - Experience with implementing package software a plus.




Responsibilities: - Analyze purchase records and other entitlement information including contracts to get a detailed understanding of software metrics, deployment limitations and audit terms. - Responsible for understanding license models, contractual entitlements, software delivery models and metrics for software products and manufacturers and assess impact of software licensing on changing hardware infrastructure designs. - Organize, analyze and document purchase information associated with vendor software in the systems of record to establish an accurate and complete summary of license entitlements. - Engage software vendors, Product Owners, Application Managers and Subject Matter Experts to help collect, organize, and manage licensed vendor software assets. - Maintain and enhance entitlement data on software licenses, support agreements, renewal schedules and software deployment; ensure integrity of data Maintain processes for managing and tracking the software asset, license, and maintenance life cycle from procurement to retirement. - Advise the relevant project, program, infrastructure and application portfolio managers on software licensing and compliance, and recommend actions that will optimize the software asset portfolio - Act as a point of reference during software vendor audits and participate in discussions surrounding the audit and assist in the creation of a response. - Performs other related tasks and assignments as required.


Physical Requirements: - Must have a valid driver's license - Must be able and willing to travel within Company service territory, as needed - Must be able to participate in the Company's emergency management processes and storm plans as required.
