Job Title: Group Software Manager
Salary: £65,000 - £75,000 negotiable + benefits

My client is searching for a Leader of a group of Software Engineers in the Aerospace and Defence industry. You have the opportunity to be responsible for managing teams of at least 10 people, with the freedom to grow your own team with new investment nationwide in a booming and growing climate.
Unlike most avionics companies, you will get the chance to work across all product lines. The primary civil aspect of commercial transports and helicopters. The second prospect is its military presence involving both precision missile, maritime threat simulation and development of the systems in the law and security worlds of national safety.
*An understanding of software practises that are both time and cost efficient.
*Experience in Avionics, Braking systems, Sensors, and knowledge of Turbine system observations.
*Experience in sourcing appropriate talent for current and future projects within the embedded software domain ideally for the Aerospace industry. Have a proven track-record of leading complex software projects/programmes from cradle to grave.
*Strategise, evaluate and track continual software projects, identifying problems, risks and prospects and developing and reporting key metrics.
*Manage the ideals of crucial project stakeholders (business leaders and project managers)
*Work closely with other sites
*Regularly carry out performance analyses with your team
*Manage the relationship with the offshore verification team, developing statements of work and ensuring delivery to cost and schedule
*Willingness and ability to travel to other software offices for both customers and suppliers
*A Master's degree in an engineering or science related domain.
*Core competent knowledge of DO-178 safety-critical standards within software development/design.
*Demonstrable record of using the project design lifecycle, accounting for budget control and performance delivery.
*Know-how of the operational setting of aircraft processes.
*Experience in project and people management, ideally with a project management certification
*Agile, pro-active, independent and self-starter with good problem solving experience and decision making ability
*Deep knowledge of numerous Aerospace standards
