Sr. Electrical/Controls Engineer

One of the leading utility companies, is seeking candidates for the position of Sr. Electrical Engineer with an emphasis in Electrical/Controls Engineering at a power plant facility in Arizona.

Position Description
To provide engineering technical expertise and support at Power Plant. This will include engineering design, project management, contract administration, budget preparation, technical assistance, and testing and evaluation of plant equipment and systems to provide optimum reliability and efficiency.
Position-Related Responsibilities
*Providing primary engineering expertise for plant group. This shall include technical evaluations, economic analysis, drawing preparation, and all necessary document preparation.
*Timely, accurate, and technically sound engineering evaluations.
*The coordination and control of projects assigned.
*Projects to be on schedule, on budget, and complete.
*The input to selection, evaluation and objective assignments for engineers, junior engineers, and technicians.
*Assist in the professional development of the other engineers and technicians.
*The input to, and implementation of, group responsibility training.
*The primary responsibility for assisting the Engineering Superintendent with the O&M and Capital budgeting and budget adherence.
*To develop accurate and comprehensive budgets and monitor them for adherence.
*Successfully perform in a supervisory role when the occasion occurs, using sound management and MARC guidelines.
*To supervise or perform equipment testing, and performance monitoring or testing throughout the plant.
*Collect, evaluate, and provide equipment recommendations on a routine or as-needed basis.
*Reports to the Engineering Superintendent and performs other special assignments as required.
Management Responsibilities
*Evaluates and develops projects with minimal supervision and direction from other engineers.
*May direct technicians as required. Independently evaluates and develop projects. Works with minimal supervision and directs other engineers and technicians as required.
*Provide recommendations on cost improvement measures.
*Ensure that the Performance Management program is administered uniformly and effectively.
*Plans day-to-day operations, estimates personnel needs and schedules and assigns work. Evaluate the structure and team plan for continual improvement of the efficiency and effectiveness of the group.
Must Haves
*Power Plant or large industrial experience
*PE License required
*B.S. degree in Electrical Engineering.
*Experience with PLC or DCS programs
*6+ years professional experience.
*Controls experience
*Must be eligible to work in the United States with out sponsorship
