Major Telcom Company is in need of a FE licensed civil/structural engineer who produces the products and standards provided by Structural Analysis and/or Modification Design process under the direction of more advanced and professionally licensed engineers.
Essential Job Functions
Perform detailed structural analysis of original, modified, and proposed telecommunication towers; monopole, lattice guyed, and lattice self-supporting structures and produce reports for review and approval by an experienced engineer.
*Design tower modifications and ensure modification drawings produced for review and approval
*Review work of Associate Design Engineers in the production of reports and supporting calculations.
*Respond to consultation work order requests
*Assist in supporting engineering projects and studies.
*Assist in the development of engineering processes, standards, and training.
*Develop analysis assistance tools with MS Excel and MathCAD.
*Research documents to perform due diligence on tower acquisition projects.
*Work with area personnel to ensure database accuracy.
*Ensure CAD drawings are updated to include modifications to existing sites and new construction.
*Check engineering drawings for accuracy of dn.
*Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering
*Successful completion of the Fundamentals of Engineering (FE) exam preferred
*Two (2) years of structural engineering experience in the field of telecommunication towers (steel structures and foundations)
*Working knowledge of codes and standards related to telecommunication structures
*Demonstrated proficiency with structural and foundation analysis tools (e.g. tnxTower, Caisson, L-Pile, etc.)
*Experience using MS Excel and MathCAD, for engineering calculations
*Detail oriented and self-motivated
*Knowledge of bolted and welded connection design
*Knowledge of tower hardware and components
*Experience or knowledge of steel shop fabrication processes and/or knowledge of fabrication shop tools and capabilities
*Experience or knowledge in tower/reinforcement erection and/or knowledge of tower construction equipment and practices
