1General job description:
oThe Mechanical Engineer designs, specifies and inspects all kinds of static equipment, tanks, vessels and heat exchangers pertaining to critical chemical facilities located worldwide, according to applicable regulations, norms, company internal standards and contractual specifications. He / she develops in co-operation with other disciplines a project scope of work.
oHe / she is responsible for the quality of the technical documents, which are necessary in the different study phases and the execution phase of projects.
oHe / she has the capabilities to check and supervise the a.m. tasks when being performed by a contractor or external engineering office.
oHe / she gives priority to safety and environment.
oHe / she actively participates to risk assessment. He gives mechanical input to preparation of PIDs and layout drawings.
oHe / she has good human skills and is able to lead a team of contractors during study and execution phases of projects.
*Specifications of static mechanical equipment (tanks, pressure vessels, heat exchangers, columns, reformers …)
*Preparation and check of relevant mechanical datasheets
*To ensure compliance with regulation, codes and company specifications
*Coordination of checks of drawings and information from vendors within the mechanical discipline
*Communication and interfaces with other disciplines
*Acts pro-actively as technical expert
*Quality inspections at workshops of suppliers
3Job Qualification Needs:
*Graduated from university / high school
*Minimum 5 years of experience
*Highly motivated and demonstrating high sense of commitment
*Accurate and meticulous
*Good team player
*Open to travel worldwide and flexible
*Languages : at least fluent in English. Other languages are a plus
*Familiar with PED and international codes / norms (ASME, AD-M, EN…)
*Familiar with design according to pressure vessels codes
*Understanding / basic knowledge of chemical / thermo-dynamical processes
*Experience with static mechanical equipment in an industrial environment will be an asset
* Experience with mechanical equipment in heavy industries like petro-chemical industries, power plants…
*Able to conceptualize and draw design details
*Able to work on a systematic way when dealing e.g. with quality checks and inspections in view of mechanical completion certification
*Other skill will be a plus
