Civil Structural Engineer
Civil engineering structures and soil geotechnics study
- Receive, analyse and verify the consistency of the input data.
- Produces deliverables for which they are responsible (design hypotheses, methodology and assumption notes; technical specifications; calculation notes).
- Coordinate the work of CAD Designers.
- Perform technical verifications of civil engineering design notes, models and drawings.
- Contribute to the surveillance of the anchorages designed by the equipment suppliers.
- Contribute to CDM reviews, create and maintain the Design Risk Register.
- Load evolution tracking and civil design margin management
- Liaise with site based engineering teams to facilitate the construction.
- Liaise with subject matter experts.
- Bachelor's / Master's degree in civil engineering
- Minimum of 5 years' of relevant experience
- Civil engineering design office experience, particularly in the design of industrial reinforced concrete structures
Experience of the HPC project
Knowledge of and/or experience of civil engineering design contracts in the nuclear sector or other heavily regulated industry (such as oil & gas, rail,...)

This role falls into the technical field of Civil engineering structures and soil geotechnics studies.We are looking for a new colleague to support the Civils Team Lead of our client. The activities aim at modifying and adapting the design received from the Back Office, substantiating the adapted design of the reinforced concrete structures on the Hinkley Point C project. Work will be done closely with the Client and the Client's Tier 1 Civils Contractor.The civil work design is made on TEKLA, and used as a deliverable directly for construction activities for different tasks.Main Activities1. Receive, analyse and verify the consistency of the input data.2. Modifying reinforced concrete structure designs compliant with the ETC-C, other relevant codes,3. Maintaining QA procedures in delivering the CW design4. Working and reviewing with the designers in the preparation of the design drawings/models modified,5. The Technical Coordination team ensures the optimisation of the technical activities by providing support to all engineering teams based in the Joint Design Office (JDO - located on HPC site) for the UK HPC EPR project. It ensures a strong link between the configuration management activities performed in the back-office and on the JDO. The Technical Coordination team is responsible for assisting with several of the below-listed activities depending on the job/project requirements and the job holder's competencies and experience: Configuration management (Design changes, open-points, interfaces) The Technical Coordination team is in charge of the Design Change Management by piloting and coordinating the technical aspects of the Configuration (Design changes/Open points/Referential) between the different internal and external stakeholders ensuring a consistent and optimised (challenges the technical impacts) design for the Project.
