We are seeking a highly qualified Electrical Engineer with a Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering and at least 5 years of experience in physical / primary electrical design for high voltage substations. A Master's or Ph.D in Electrical Engineering plus 3 or more years of relevant experience is also acceptable. The candidate should be proficient in specifying all types of HV and MV equipment used in substations and have expertise in AutoCAD.

Excellent communication skills are a must as the candidate will be responsible for collaborating with clients, subconsultants, and subcontractors. Additionally, the candidate will be required to develop 3D layouts for HVDC and FACTS substation projects, including electromechanical design, development of general arrangement, layout and elevation drawings considering electrical and mechanical parameters of the project.

Other duties include performing cable ampacity, grounding, lightning, illumination, and station auxiliary load calculations, creating equipment specifications and detailed bill of materials, and developing 3D layouts for AIS, GIS and FACTS devices. The candidate will also be responsible for ensuring that engineering deliverables meet schedule dates and should inform the Project Manager of possible delays or risks in the project design.

The ideal candidate should be willing to travel locally and internationally to attend customer meetings and project sites, with an estimated travel time of 20%.

Identify and co-ordinate all stakeholders throughout project and service delivery to ensure that project and service key performance indicators are achieved. Enable sufficient, timely and appropriate information exchange between all stakeholders throughout project / service development and delivery to ensure that deliverables and KPI's are understood and any risks or opportunities are monitored and reviewed to achieve the best project / service results. Identify, understand, and apply all Health & Safety legislation and regulatory requirements as a fundamental element of any construction design or undertaking ensuring safety of employees and members of the public during construction, testing, commissioning and operation;Proactively participate in the Performance Management process to ensure delivery of own, and the wider team's, objectives.  The ideal candidate will possess the following qualification, skills, knowledge and attributes: Hons Degree (Lvl 8 FETAC) in Electrical Engineering essential; Post-Graduate (Lvl 9 FETAC) qualification in a relevant discipline would be an advantage for this role;7 years’ experience managing the grid connection process for transmission connected projects in the generator or utility sector; Significant technical experience of HV electrical design and consenting of 110/220/400 kV infrastructure, HV cable (≥ 110 kV) experience, verifying / approving third party design, contract Management, financial /cost management and project management required;Excellent technical report writing and communications skills essential; Proficient in AutoCAD and PSSE or other similar electrical design software would be an advantage
