Immediate opening for an Electrical Engineer in our Project Management Services department due to recent promotional vacancies. The position includes the following responsibilities:
*Engineering and design of new and existing substations including physical and electrical drawing development, schematics and wiring diagrams, specifications preparation, electrical calculations, and compliance with project planning requirements.
*Preparing material and construction contracts including drawings, material lists, and specifications, and managing the procurement process including bid evaluations and recommendations for award.
*Performing on site construction management of contractors to ensure that all work is completed safely and within scope, schedule, and budget, with minimal impact to the business Operations.
*Coordination of various consultants, contractors, and internal departments during the execution of the planning, engineering, procurement, construction and operations of the defined project.
An ideal engineering position candidate will have a Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering from an accredited program and be or able to become a registered Professional Engineer with experience in the Electric Utility industry. Specific experience in substations engineering as well as material procurement, construction, and contracting is most desirable.
The position will provide an engineer with responsibilities for the complete project life cycle from planning through engineering and material procurement and into construction including site coordination. Opportunities exist for a wide variety of project work on new as well as existing substation facilities. There will be opportunities to utilize industry leading consultants, material suppliers, and contractors to support project commitments.
