Spencer Ogden is seeking a Civil Construction Superintendent to work for a family oriented general contractor based in the New Orleans area. Qualified candidate must have: proven work experience in civil construction (underground utilities); 3+ years' experience as a Superintendent; ability to work on site, ensuring construction is completed properly; ability to self-perform on job sites; familiarity with concrete, pile driving, piping, pump stations and installations; ability to manage budgets, people, and costs.

Confers with Project Manager and/or General Superintendent in the review of schedule, budget, drawings, and specifications to plan and implement work.
Prepares detailed two week look-ahead schedule.
Requisitions and obtains supplies and materials needed to complete the work.
Revises work assignments as required by priorities and work availability.
Examine and inspect work progress, equipment, and construction sites to ensure that specifications are met.
Organizes, supervises, leads and trains foreman/tradesmen to complete projects within established guidelines and time frame.
Responsible for overseeing that a safe working environment exists for workers, subcontractors, vehicular traffic and pedestrians.
Attend training classes in order to maintain current status regarding safety.
Responsible for ensuring that all trucking tickets, drays, invoices or other documents are properly cost coded and submitted to the Accounting Department on a daily basis.
Responsible for ensuring that all weekly time sheets are completed and submitted to the Accounting Department on a daily basis.
Communicates with the Human Resources Manager regularly regarding any employee issues pertaining to disciplinary action, payroll discrepancy, employee benefits, tardiness/attendance problems, terminations, or any other human resources' matters.
Confers and coordinates with all subcontractors regarding their work schedules, and ensures that they are in compliance with all safety regulations.
Responsible for coordinating the timely delivery of all equipment, materials, supplies, tools, etc. to the job site.
Responsible for ensuring that Equipment Checklists are collected from the Equipment Operators and verify that they are properly completed before submitting them to the Equipment &Facilities Manager at the end of each day.
Conducts weekly safety meetings on the job site for workers.
Attends monthly supervisors' meeting.
