Technical Editor & Content Curator
Glasgow or Blyth
12 month initial contract with view to going permanent

A flagship technology company focused on innovation and research within the advancement of wind, wave and tidal energy, is now looking for a Technical Editor / Content Curator to join their growing team

They help to reduce the cost of offshore renewable energy, transforming the industry and delivering UK economic benefit and this role will be key to enhancing their digital media presence.

Main Purpose

*The development and production of new technical content, actively managing its dissemination, both internally and externally, across a range of digital and social platforms. Working with the organisation's technical teams, the role includes copywriting, editing against company standards, content curation and pre-publication preparation (desk top publishing)
*Supporting the PR & Digital Media Manager to further develop the companies digital presence by enhancing the impact and value of the company's online knowledge portals

Key Responsibilities

*Liaising with the engineering / technical teams to identify, develop and deliver technical content in the form of key issues papers, case studies, market analyses etc
*Ensuring consistency, quality and adherence to company editorial standards across all publications delivered
*Management of the internal and external processes for publications
*Copy writing, editing and pre-publication document processing (Adobe In-Design)
*Co-ordinate and develop the companies community of online knowledge portals
*Ensure the effectiveness of the integration with the organisation's overall business processes and communications best practice

Key Skills

*Ideally educated to at least degree level or professional qualification in a relevant discipline
*Experience of digital content production, curation and management
*Exceptional writing and editorial skills
*Prior experience of communications within an engineering or technical environment is highly preferred
*Ideally, familiar with website performance management tools such as Google Analytics
*Experience in using Adobe InDesign, or equivalent desktop publishing tool, is beneficial.
