*Responsible for supporting our customers with comprehensive product technical support in order to ensure safe and reliable product performance including oversight to customer held product training sessions
*Supports the documentation of all product and software installations, operational issues, training issues, customer issues and resolutions in order to assist future services with customers.
*Lead the product support activities across the various signaling systems presently in-service at the customer location(s).
*Consults with customer in analyzing, troubleshooting and resolving issues to better maintain their systems in order to allow them to maintain their operational standard.
*Oversees and supervises the customer's installation, configuration and programming of various products and systems. Provides expert support for commissioning of products and systems.
*Supervises the testing of applications to determine the cause of problems encountered in the field and compatibility with other software applications; Support writing test software and test procedures.
*Writes reports and field investigation forms, describing problems and suggestions for improvements to products and systems for use internally.
*Liaison between customers and other departments in the Company. Participating on weekly Product Support Council calls to discuss new and ongoing product and customer issues.
*Support the development of product procedures, product manuals, and training materials including testing of products to ensure functionality and to diagnose customer related problems.
*Provides expert advice in the creation of customer training presentations and demonstration units.
*Maintains an understanding of railroad equipment and systems and interfaces as needed with local and governmental during their investigations of railroad incidents.
*Analyzes site surveys of railroads and recommends locations for equipment.
*4 year college program OR a minimum of 10 years' experience in railroad signaling.
*Proficient in the use of current railroad technologies including, but not limited to Grade Crossing Predictors, Crossing Controllers, Gate Mechanisms, Track Circuits, Signaling Systems, Track Switches, Communication Systems, and Positive Train Control.
*Ability to test meters, test devices, shunt testers, etc, used in troubleshooting efforts.
*Self-motivated and ability to work in large group settings or alone.
*Ability to read a set of signal plans.
*Understanding how to download logs and also understand their meaning.
*Ability to work under pressure with various timelines and deadlines.
