China) Dept. / Section Regional Technical Service Manager Immediate Supervisor 14 June 2017 Date QUALIFICATIONS An individual who is a graduate with a Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering or Chemistry with a minimum 3-5 years working experience with specialized experience in plastics technology and processing methods and end use applications. The individual should possess the following skill-sets and attributes: 1. Possess strong interaction and interpersonal skills. 2. Possess good verbal and written communication skills. 3. Is bi-lingual in both Chinese and English language. Additional Asian language will be advantageous. 4. Possess good analytical, selling and negotiation skills. 5. Is methodical in analyzing and solving issues/problems. 6. Able to work independently. 7. Willing to travel up to 50% 8. Able to handle and manage confidential information. 9. Is IT savvy and proficient with Microsoft Excel, Power-Point and Word. SUMMARY In this position, the job holder is required to liaise, interact and communicate with: 1. SAP & Global Sales & Marketing Team. 2. SAP & Global Technical Team. DUTIES 1. Be able to communicate effectively, both orally or in writing, with internal and external customers, Sales and Marketing Departments, and industry peers. 2. Required to make Technical Sales trips and do follow-up reports as determined by: A. Sales (pre-planned) B. Problems arising in the field (with little or no notice) C. Technical Service Manager and/or Regional Commercial Director 3. Become familiar with raw materials and practices used in the Plastic Industry. 4. Keep up-to-date on all new trends, developments and formulating techniques in the Plastics Industry; especially those involving aluminum pigments. 5. Complete Technical Service projects for Sales and Marketing, Manufacturing, Quality Assurance and/or Research and Development Departments in support of customer requests. 6. Investigate customer complaints regarding quality of product or deviation from product specifications. Perform technical service laboratory work in support of resolving customer complaints in a timely fashion. 7. Assist customers with proper grade(s) selections, competitive offset recommendations, application support, provide formulating advice, and propose problem resolutions. 8. Keep accurate, up-to-date files on: A. Customer Service projects B. Competitive aluminum or effect pigment products 9. Responsible for production of all plastic demonstration and test panels requested by the Sales and Marketing Departments. 10. Responsible for testing and recording of competitive aluminum and special effect pigment samples. 11. Responsible for Trade Show preparation and attending plastic related trade shows, conferences, society meetings and training courses as assigned by the Manager, Technical Service. 12. Pursue Technical Service projects in support of the individual and corporate strategic goals. 13. Adhere to all policies and procedures as outlined in (but not limited to) the Corporate Policy, Corporate Safety, Technical Service Department Procedure and Quality Assurance Standard Test Methods manuals. 14. Keep accurate, up to date technical project logs for all projects either actively being worked on or in queue. Ensure communication of project status with commercial teams. 15. Support the continual improvement of safety and housekeeping standards in plastic laboratory areas and throughout the department. 16. Responsible for the ordering of laboratory equipment, raw materials, resins, etc., for the day-to-day activities. 17. Becomes familiar with government regulations affecting the plastic industries. 18. Responsible for such other duties and tasks as required by the Manager, Technical Service.
