The Opportunity

We are currently recruiting on behalf of a leading top 6 Gas and Electricity Supplier, who are looking to expand on their current Electrical Meter Installation team. This fantastic opportunity requires no previous experience, as full training will be required.

With the roll out of smart meters, our team of Meter Engineers are instrumental in delivering service levels, whilst complying with technical, safety and regulatory requirements. We are currently looking to add New Electric Meter Installers to our expanding Technical team, recruiting across the South East and South West.

The Training

The role is FULLY funded by our client. With this opportunity you will go through a leading Training Academy which specilises in SMART Metering and is fully accredited and recognised training provider by -
Logic Certification: An Awarding Organisation and a Certification Body overseeing the competence assessment of individuals working in the industry
The National Skills Academy for Power sits at the heart of the Power Sector, driving excellence in skills. Part of the EU Skills group.
Course is a 5 weeks managed learning program, which consist of

2 weeks and 2 day Academy based training, both practical and theory
2 weeks onsite mentoring/shadowing an engineer
3 days Academy based assessment

On completion of the training, you will continue with the clilent and complete their induction and become a qualified engineer and start your full time employment as a permanent member of staff!

The Job Role -

As an Electric Meter Engineer, your main responsibilities will be:
Installing and exchanging electric meters in a variety of premises issued via hand held devices.
Complete prescribed testing in line with industry standards and codes of practice (MOCOPA)
Collect and deposit electric meters from the designated storage facility
Complete all relevant associated administrative work
Other duties may be undertaken as and when required, in particular when new business is gained
Achieve and exceed work performance targets and adhere to health and safety procedures, industry standards and codes of practice
