Source, evaluate and oversee implementation of complex, large scale, mixed-use development projects, principally by managing a team of third party consultants and internal team members to advance and complete the following tasks:
Develop and maintain project budgets (including sources and uses) operating pro-forma, financial feasibility and sensitivity analyses. Familiarity with Yardi is a plus.
Oversee and coordinate the design development with the design team throughout all phases of design and through construction administration.
Manage and execute complex, multi-source financial closings. Familiarity with New York City HPD and HDC financing programs is a plus.
Develop processes for, and manage all communications and work flow with, consultants and project team members in all phases of project development.
Collaborate with Slate's Construction department in selecting, directing and coordinating third party design professionals (i.e. architects, engineers, consultants) including design review and contract negotiation.
Collaborate with Slate's Construction department to ensure construction budget and schedule are achieved. Work closely with General Contractor / Owner's Rep throughout construction.
Develop and maintain professional relationships with lenders, joint venture partners and investors.
Coordinate and complete third party market studies and appraisals.
Review and approve third party contracts and billings.
Collaborate with Slate's property and asset management teams at various phases of development, most importantly during leasing and transition to stabilized operations.
Report directly to the company Principal and Co-founder
Deep knowledge of New York City development process
Strong track record of market rate and affordable multi-family housing experience
Familiarity with commercial lending
Knowledge with residential mixed-use construction process in NYC
Strong oral & written communications skills
Supervision/ Delegation Skills
Computer skills and programs including Microsoft Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint and Word.
Bachelor's degree required with a major in business, architecture, engineering or planning preferred.
7-10 years of development experience with at least 5 years of experience in NYC
