Essential Job Functions * Manage development activities of utility-scale wind energy projects from feasibility to the start of construction * Engage with staff to coordinate energy assessment, environmental, permitting, transmission interconnection, land acquisition, and design activities * Support energy offtake, financing, and project M&A discussions, including due diligence activities * Ensure projects are progressing on schedule and within budget * Obtain local project permits and tax agreements * Select, manage, and direct third party consultants and review their reports * Engage with landowners and stakeholders to provide information throughout the development process * Review project pro forma financial models * Evaluate viability of early stage and acquisition projects * Conduct site visits to define site characteristics and develop relationships with local stakeholders * Represent company in industry advocacy groups * Remain abreast of renewable energy opportunities in the United States and the national industry trends impacting the future of wind and renewable development opportunities and their competitiveness as they relate to customers. * Represent our client at national wind and renewable energy events as speaker, panelist and wind energy leader. * Carry out other duties as assigned. Qualifications Requirements * Proven record of accomplishment in wind or renewable energy development, including experience taking projects through financing. * Demonstrated ability to identify and resolve potential project flaws and to prioritize critical path tasks. * Thorough understanding of land easements/leases and title curative requirements. * Track record of successfully working with public officials to obtain development permits, tax abatements, etc. * Working knowledge of technical development disciplines, including interconnection, resource assessment, turbine operation, GIS, etc. * General understanding of market trends and resulting impacts on project development. * Superior verbal and written communication skills and high level of attention to detail with the ability to present to a wide range of audiences, including landowners, potential offtakers, government officials, and corporate leaders.
