My client is seeking an expert within the renewables sector to join their Renewable Energy team as a Sustainability Director. This is a great opportunity for someone who believes in how renewable plays that key role in achieving the NET Zero commitment shared by many.

The team is thriving and are now looking for an experienced leader with strong consulting and business development skills, people leadership skills and a solid technical foundation to join as a Director, based in France.

For this unique and impactful role, we are looking for candidates who will provide inspirational leadership that engages and motivates all levels of staff and contribute to the achievement of my client's growth strategy.

Ideal Candidate:


  • Leads the development and implementation of the business’ Sustainability strategy.
  • Leads a team to develop Sustainability Framework-aligned plans, priorities, and targets for the business and projects, and ensures these are agreed and communicated effectively across the business.
  • Leads a team to ensure appropriate tracking of performance against sustainability targets, holds the business to account, communicates outcomes, and produces reports as required.
  • Leads and directs the preparation and presentation of data on environmental and sustainability metrics, ensuring relevant data is collected, collated and analysed in accordance with the business and external/regulatory reporting requirements.
  • Manages leading-edge Sustainability input into work-winning and business development activities.
  • Leads, supports and contributes to the development and delivery of sustainability training programmes for staff to improve understanding/sustainability literacy to enhance business performance.
  • Ideally strong technical understanding of renewables off-shore wind – although knowledge of other types of renewable energies could also be considered.
  • Track record of strategic planning, risk management and delivery of growth initiative.
  • Proven Business Development acumen with leading organizations in the private and public sectors.
  • Consulting experience.
  • International experience working on complex project assignments.
  • French speaking at native or full professional proficiency level.
  • Concerned about environmental issues and willing to contribute actively to the sustainability transition by leveraging your business strategy skills and experience.
  • You are experienced in selling strategy and implementation projects with sales targets and in managing a client portfolio (i.e., multiple client accounts).
  • You demonstrate strong advisory skills with a capacity to build convictions and provide innovative solutions to address your client needs, a capacity to influence your client’s strategic decisions and to position yourself as a key strategic advisor for your client.
  • You are recognised as a strong leader among your team, being a role model for them.
  • You are recognised for your interpersonal skills and relationship building, C-level interactions, Capacity to mobilise and engage people in a multicultural environment and multidisciplinary teams, capacity to develop and leverage your network.
  • You are a talent developer, willing to develop your team through mentoring.
