This call for services is to deliver the Contract Engineering Lead and Contract Technical Lead roles on a variety of HPC contracts. The client responsible for the technical oversight of the design, manufacture and installation of various systems on the HPC project. This call for services is to carry out the technical lead and coordinate the review of the design of nuclear waste processing systems, supporting the contractor and client in resolving problems, and generally ensuring an acceptable design is delivered. This will continue with the oversight of manufacturing non-conformances, finally ensuring a successful delivery to site.
This will include but is not limited to: production of technical specifications, technical oversight of the tendering process, and supplier oversight, for the Nuclear Waste processing equipment.

I am currently looking for a number of Project Planners to join the PMO within one of our clients working on Europe's largest constructioon porjects - Hinkley Point C. Britains Nuclear New Build based in Bristol.The role would be a 12 month renewable contract, inside of IR35 looking to pay a daily rate.The role offers a blend of office (Bristol) and remote working.The ideal candidate will have an understanding of all elements of Planning, with a base understanding of cost (EVM) and overall project controls. The civil work design is made on TEKLA, and used as a deliverable directly for construction activities for different tasks.Main Activities1. Receive, analyse and verify the consistency of the input data.2. Modifying reinforced concrete structure designs compliant with the ETC-C, other relevant codes,3. Maintaining QA procedures in delivering the CW design4. Working and reviewing with the designers in the preparation of the design drawings/models modified,5. Managing engineering changes in line with company procedures,6. Liaising with colleagues in Europe/ worldwide7. Activities to be carried out as part of the service Supporting the construction of two EPR's on HPC by answering to requestes coming from building and erection contractors on HVAC disciplineReporting to the HVAC Discipline Lead and HVAC NI Lead achievements, progresses and difficulties and raising alerts on any aspects of the design when identified;Contributing to the closure of design open points after the delivery of HVAC design packages to site;Anticipates and raise alerts on open technical points;Collect and organize the lessons learnt;Being part of JDO-DT HVAC team, participating to Team meetings, sharing technical topics. Activities will be done on HPC site, in JDO offices.Essential Qualified to Degree Level and several years of experience in HVAC;Good knowledge of 2D and 3D design software (AutoCAD, Navisworks);Good knowledge and understanding of general HVAC layout rules for an industrial project;Knowledge of the general operation of nuclear power station and the associated safety aspects (in particular, aspects relating to nuclear safety, flooding, fire, radiological protection, high energy line ruptures, etc.);Experience on 3D model visualisation for layout analysis;Microsoft Office;Fluent in English Desirable Experience in HVAC design or installation,Experience of UK design context and regulatory processes;Experience in previous EPR or other nuclear projects;
Activities to be carried out as part of the service: Identification of risks: Using the 3D model, calculation methodologies and fire requirements issued by the architect engineer or the client : Analysing the 3D model and identification of the various combustible materials present in each areaPerforming temperature change calculations over time for a simulated fire (modelling of various situations using the MAGIC software)Assessing the risk of damage to certain systems (functional redundancy)Monitoring and including in the models the changes issued by all the engineering teams (change of positioning of cable trays, electrical cabinets, ventilation ducts, etc.) Fire protection:Recommending protection solutions to prevent an outbreak of fire or to make it improbableDividing all buildings into zones for fire protection purposes.Recommending fire detection and firefighting methods for the quickest possible detection and responsePerforming fire protection calculations using specific softwareAssessing and providing justifications for departures from BS999
Key accountabilities in this role: Ensuring that all construction works are completed in line with the design and drawings issued (i.e. ensuring the design intent is met) through inspection & verification of works and manufacturing records.Assist in the provision of construction expertise and input to constructability reviews HAZCON, as required and ensuring the design, work scope and construction strategies embed the out puts.Ensure that the contractors and their supervisors are Suitably Qualified and Experienced to carry out their respective roles inline with the Contract and CDM (2015)Ensure site work is undertaken in line with planned and coordinated schedules so as to meet programmed dates as well as safety and quality objectives.Support process improvement throughout the construction activities. What we are looking for in applications - Familiar with a gated design review process, from requirements capture to product realisationExperience in nuclear safety substantiation and justification for Electrical Controls Equipment.Experience with FMEA and Failure Rate analysis for Electrical ControlsExperience in the design of hardwired electrical controls equipment (PLC and software-based experience is not required/needed).Experience in design and substantiation in accordance with BS EN 61508.Familiar with the British wiring regulations BS7671 18th Edition and other HSWA legislation for electrical safety of equipment and product.
Key Accountabilities include but are not limited to: · Support the development and maintenance of control account schedules as part of an Integrated Master Schedule (IMS) to deliver Projects or Programmes, utilising analysis and scenarios for optimisation.· Consolidation of planning data within the in-service support programmes via an IMS, providing management information, analysis and reporting to the programme management team as required.· Execution of the in-service support planning and progress update cycle, governance around change control activities to ensure compliance.· Develop and support the ongoing maintenance of internal and external deliverables to the business and industry partners.· Ensure that best practice planning principles are used to create and maintain schedules to a high standard to ensure quality and credibility. The activities, to be carried out as part of the service will be performed in the engineering office (JDO, Joint Design Office) located on the HPC site. The activities will be done as part of the Layout Team.The main activities to be carried out are: Modifying the PDMS 3D-Model of the two plants, each time a change from site has a significant impact on the design, following the rules of modelling and checking consistency of the change. The modelling will be done: Components and equipment;Civil structure;Steelwork;Pipework;HVAC ducts and components;Instrumentation;Electrical cable trays, boxes and cabinets Carrying out detailed 2D and 3D modelling activities to support the Layout team to answer to site queries;Answering or contributing to answer the site requests by gathering all needed inputs, providing technical analysis and justification, by liaising with the engineering back-offices if needed and by evaluating the impacts of the request on the different disciplinesPerforming 2D-3D Checks when needed Contributing to the produ ction of any technical document requested to support the construction (Ex. Equipment Location Book, Layout Dummy Bedplate Drawing, review of Anchorages for Equipment,...) The activities will be performed under the supervision of the Layout Discipline Lead and Layout Team leadAny technical issue or deviations, any area of improvement identified and any need of specific support to perform the activities need be shared with the Layout Discipline Lead or Layout Team Lead.
The Technical Coordination activities are composed of the several of the below listed activities: Configuration management (Design changes, open-points, interfaces)The Technical Coordination activities covers the Design Change Management including piloting and coordinating the technical aspects of the Configuration (Design changes/Open points/Referential) between the different internal and external stakeholders ensuring a consistent and optimised (challenges the technical impacts) design for the Project.Coordination of cross-functional technical issues: Ensures the resolution of various cross-functional technical issues by coordinating multidisciplinary stakeholders.Participates where necessary in coordination meetings organised by the various parties involved in the project (modification committee, project decision meeting, etc.)Presents and shares progress, including KPI production, data analysis to support management and decision making Participation to different Project Committees:Committees can be the Technical Referential Committee, Change Management Boards, NI Risks & Opportunities Committee, ...
