Job Title: Senior Water Engineer – Technical Lead

Job Description:
Spencer Ogden is seeking a motivated and growth-oriented Senior Water Engineer to join our client's California team. This role offers a unique opportunity to lead multi-disciplinary project teams in delivering high-quality water engineering services to municipal clients across the region and the nation. As a key technical lead, you will guide projects from planning and conceptual design through final design, construction, start-up, and facility operations. You'll have the chance to mentor junior staff, collaborate with experienced professionals, and contribute to initiatives that enhance our service delivery.
Key Responsibilities:
- Serve as the technical lead for a variety of drinking water projects, with additional experience in wastewater and stormwater applications being valuable.
- Collaborate closely with Project Managers to oversee the technical delivery of project tasks, ensuring quality and compliance with local and federal regulations.
- Define and execute the overall technical approach for projects, ensuring that all technical deliverables meet client expectations and regulatory requirements.
- Prepare and present technical reports, presentations, and training programs to clients, professional associations, and internal teams.
- Contribute to the development and refinement of design guidelines and standards to maintain high-quality project outcomes.
- Support marketing and proposal efforts by providing technical expertise and insights.
Qualifications:
- Experience: 10-15 years of engineering experience, with a strong background in the evaluation, planning, design, and construction of drinking water systems.
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Civil or Environmental Engineering is required; a Master’s degree is preferred.
- Licensing: Registered Professional Engineer with proven expertise in civil and/or environmental engineering, particularly in municipal water systems, including water supply, treatment processes, and distribution infrastructure.
- Regulatory Knowledge: Well-versed in state and EPA regulations regarding water treatment and distribution systems, as well as state bidding laws and funding programs.
- Technical Proficiency: Up-to-date with the latest advances in technology, regulatory trends, equipment, and processes related to water systems.
- Communication Skills: Excellent writing, communication, and presentation skills, with the ability to effectively convey complex technical information to clients and colleagues.
Additional Information:
- Travel: Up to 5% travel, mostly within California.
- Location: Remote work is available, with a preference for candidates based in California.
