Job Description:

Spencer Ogden is seeking a Recycled Water Technical Manager to join our California team and take on the challenge of developing innovative solutions for water-related projects. This is a unique opportunity to lead multi-disciplinary project teams through every phase of project development, from concept and planning to final design, construction, start-up, and operations. As a key player in our team, you will mentor junior staff, build strong client relationships, and collaborate with experts across various disciplines, including environmental planning, permitting, funding, operations, and SCADA.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Technical Leadership: Serve as the technical lead for projects of all sizes, overseeing all technical tasks and client-facing interactions.
  • Project Management: Support Project Managers in managing the financial and technical delivery of project tasks, including scope, schedule, and budget. May also directly manage these aspects for specific tasks.
  • Technical Strategy: Determine the technical approach for project tasks, ensuring that all deliverables meet client expectations and regulatory requirements.
  • Client and Professional Interaction: Prepare and deliver presentations to clients, professional societies, and internal teams. Actively participate in the development of technical guidelines and standards.
  • Mentorship: Mentor and guide junior staff, reviewing technical work and providing direction on technical assignments.

Qualifications:

  • Experience: 8+ years of engineering experience with a strong focus on recycled water systems, including both non-potable and potable applications.
  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Civil, Environmental, or Chemical Engineering is required.
  • Licensing: Professional Engineer (PE) registration is a plus.
  • Technical Skills: Experience in the research, planning, and design of recycled water systems, including familiarity with master planning, tertiary/advanced treatment, and distribution. Experience with AutoCAD software and construction administration, including coordinating submittal reviews.
  • Leadership and Collaboration: Proven ability to coordinate and lead project teams, manage project phases, and interact professionally with clients and stakeholders.
  • Regulatory Knowledge: Familiarity with local regulators, particularly in California and Florida, is highly desirable.
