Spencer Ogden today announces the opening of its new office in Dubai. The Dubai office will be the eighth opened by the energy recruitment agency since the company was founded in 2010, and the fourth global office launched in the last year.
Heading up the team in Dubai is the newly appointed country manager, Jamie Cork. Jamie has worked in the recruitment sector for seven years, and has been based in Dubai since 2008. He is excited by the prospect of leading the first Spencer Ogden office to be opened in the United Arab Emirates.
Cork remarks: “I think Spencer Ogden will have huge success here, and I can’t wait to get started. Not only will we be working with some of the biggest corporations in the UAE, but the Dubai office represents our first steps into the Middle East and Africa too. The market is growing by the day and we are thrilled to be working with such a great selection of companies in the region.”
The new office is situated in the TECOM Business Park industry hub in one of Dubai’s Free Zones, which is home to over 4,500 other businesses including many Fortune 500 companies. Currently the Dubai team is comprised of six consultants, but by the end of 2013 this is expected to have expanded to a team of 20. Many of these will be international graduates from the first of Spencer Ogden’s Global Graduate Academies in London.
While the primary focus of the Dubai office will be serving the oil and gas market, it will also service the power and renewable energy sectors.
The energy industry across the UAE and Gulf Cooperation States (GCC) is expanding rapidly, and positions across the entire industry are opening up. David Spencer Percival, CEO of Spencer Ogden, comments: “Because the sector is accelerating so quickly, there is a constant demand for talent at all levels, whether in engineering, procurement or construction. In particular, we are seeing high demand for experts in drilling and oil field services. That’s why it is vital that recruitment experts, like those at Spencer Ogden, are on hand to help fulfil this need.”
The Dubai office joins Spencer Ogden’s other headquarters in London, Aberdeen, Glasgow, Houston, Singapore, Hong Kong and Calgary, and reinforces its position as the world’s leading energy recruitment agency of choice.
