On April 29 and 30, seven employees from Spencer Ogden Americas participated in a two-day fundraising bike ride from Houston to Austin.
The 180-mile event is the largest charity bike ride in the U.S. and requires participants to raise money and awareness for multiple sclerosis (MS) research.
“It’s an honour to have the opportunity to cycle with over 100,00 other riders from Houston to Austin. The event raises much needed awareness and funds for MS and we found that most of the participants were from the energy industry,” said Ed Ogden, Spencer Ogden’s Chief Sales Officer .
“It was certainly a challenge cycling in 90 degree (F) heat, although adrenalin and excitement did help all seven of us to cross the finish line. The team rode a fantastic race and were able to raise $2,950 — an impressive achievement to say the least. “
Over the past 32 years, the BP MS 150 has raised $240 million. This year, riders raised more than $15 million, with all funds donated to the National MS Society.
