Job description
Candidate is the lead person responsible to cover the subsurface discipline matters in protecting shareholders' value
A member of E & P team, reporting to Upstream Director, working together with other members of E & P team and assisting Upstream Director to deliver E & P business objective.
A member in the Technical Committee representing the non-operator, responsible to review the Operator work on subsurface, FDP subjects to identify the risks and opportunities and to influence Operator to rectify shortcomings or improvement to protect shareholders' interests
Lead the subsurface team, and mentor to junior subsurface staff, to carry out technical studies to verify and cross check on Operator work
Set up and maintain a subsurface database, evaluation methodology and work processes, and contemporary software tools to continuously upgrade the subsurface data and knowledge
Contract holder for engaging and QAQC works of external resources to carry out technical studies including seismic and QI studies, static and dynamic modelling, well optimisation, reserves calculations, production forecasting, FDP, ADP to support project maturation and implementation, stewardship and surveillance work
Review Operator work for Final Investment Decision (FID) of development projects
Provide advices and seek endorsement from Board on S due diligence process, non-operator interests, development project FIDs, annual work program and budgets and annual business planning relating to technical studies and development projects
Actively participate in company's HSE and CSR initiatives and programs that include but not limited to, safety observations and HSE Trainings, community and society contributions
Qualifications and Skill:
Minimum with Bachelor's degree in geology and geophysics or petroleum engineering or equivalent and relevant academic qualifications
Min 15 years' experience in the Oil & Gas company with focussed experience in one of the subsurface disciplines (RE, PT). Technical managerial skills would be a pre-requisite
Detailed skills in reservoir engineering or production technology who has coordinated integration of subsurface disciplines (GG, RE, PP, PT and Econs) in hydrocarbon maturation funnel, Field Development Planning and Area Development Plans
Familiar with reserves calculation and reporting and production forecasting
Experience in using geomodelling and engineering software tools like PETREL and OFM or other analytical calculation in line with industrial standard
Knowledge in well design, operations, drilling hazard analysis, drilling, cutting core and core analysis and production testing would be an advantage
Strong analytical and strategic thinking skills and the ability to draw and support technical and commercial conclusions.
Good communication and presentation skills, strong interpersonal skills. Ability to express professional opinions on technical subjects, both orally and in writing.
Able to coach and mentor junior subsurface staff
Position Summary To provide technical equipment engineering advice and support to offshore operations (Ops), onshore discipline & maintenance engineers, and production engineering teams. Develop and optimize maintenance strategy and program in accordance with business objectives and KPI, as well as providing short to long-term strategies and plans to continuously improve reliability and availability to ensure rotating equipment ops maintenance activities are executed in a safe, timely and cost-effective manner. Responsible as the Technical Authority for rotating equipment and turbomachinery ops and maintenance. Principle Accountabilities 1. HSSE a) Responsible for HSSE and Regulatory Compliance within their relevant discipline to provide leadership support to achieve goal zero for the organization. b) Ensures HSSE issues are given primary consideration in all activities undertaken within area of responsibility, based on the ALARP principle. c) Maintain technical assurance for SCE and Process Safety items concerning the discipline. d) Actively support and provide technical know-how in technical studies and failure investigations, Process and Instrument diagram reviews, Safety Integrity Level (SIL) assessments and HAZOP's etc. e) Ensure surveillance audits are conducted on SCE related PMs to ensure the assurance task as per the Performance Standard are met. f) Ensure verification tasks are completed as required by the SCE Performance Standard. 2. Accountability a) Be accountable as the Technical Authority, for all rotating equipment on the facilities and analyze and approve deviations from standards and practices, as required. b) Owns Rotating Equipment Engineering as Subject Matter Expert (SME) and act as the primary source of knowledge, techniques and expertise within the area to provide professional and technical insight for design, engineering, and complex troubleshooting activities. c) Develops and manages the delivery of technical excellence within Rotating Equipment Engineering, and liaises with engineers, leads and senior managers within maintenance and ops to develop and strengthen assurance processes to ensure uninterrupted plant operation. d) Provide recommendations, steer & direction to contractors, maintenance team and offshore personnel regarding mechanical rotating equipment O&M management to optimize equipment and associated machinery usage to the assets. e) Executable rotating equipment tasks and targets based on optimization of costs and available resources. f) Facilitate/lead/participate any incident or defect elimination investigation according to defined methodologies with the relevant teams. g) Accountable for review and update of performance standard sections related to rotating equipment. h) Strategize optimum engineering & maintenance methodologies for effective medium and long-term life and performance. i) Provide assurance for regulatory and industry compliance j) Provision of support that will be multidisciplinary in nature k) Responsible to assess condition of rotating equipment based on baseline developed earlier, and lessons learns from other plants/site through LFI l) Carries out Troubleshooting/Inspection to establish root causes of failure (RCFA) and prepare Corrective Maintenance plans/options m) Proposes and develops in cooperation with Maintenance/Reliability Group reliability and safety improvement projects for the asset n) Recommends design upgrades of rotating equipment and systems as required to improve Asset Integrity o) Establish FMEA and maintenance strategy and conduct continuous improvement program, facilitate Reliability Centred Maintenance (RCM) exercise, oversee continuous KPI monitoring and reporting methods p) Responsible to review and provide assurance scopes for turbomachinery and critical equipment on Long Term Service Agreements 3. Maintenance tasks a) Provide scope, review effectiveness, and approve turbomachinery and critical equipment contract on CSA/ LTSA in supporting Maintenance team as Contract Holder b) Review and approve and inspect parts repair at vendor workshop c) Review and approve and inspect equipment undergoing factory acceptance tests (FAT) for equipment d) Carry out assurance verifications to have effective PM and CM tasks implemented for all rotating equipment e) Review the Quality of Execution of maintenance activities such that Preventive Maintenance, Inspections and Corrective Maintenance job routines are executed in accordance with the agreed work management plans, based on best practices for the industry f) Develop optimum maintenance tasks for new rotating equipment on the facilities and ensure tasks are incorporated in CMMS g) Identify and plan potential defects elimination for defects relating to leakage, looseness, vibration, excessive heat, missing or broken parts and wrong materials h) Provide with fit-for-purpose maintenance strategies in line with the company's set-up and capabilities 4. Technical Advice and Support a) Provide guidance, support and technical advice to Ops group concerning rotating equipment and to act as Technical Authority, to review and approve deviations from standards and practices b) Technical support for the frontline crew is to be expected during all reasonable times 5. Management of Change a) Make & Review recommendations to organization concerning changes in work scope, job specifications, task descriptions, CMMS scheduling, task instruction relating to rotating equipment to ensure that these offshore equipment function safely and efficiently b) Provide support to other disciplines 6. Material Identification and SCM Assistance a) Assist in resolving material identification, procurement problems, managing warehousing management and improvements 7. Contract management / development a) Liaise with vendors as part of long-term service contracts, ensure contract terms & conditions are fulfilled b) Define technical working scope and evaluation procedure. Appraise bids and provide advice to line organization of best "all round" offers regarding materials, equipment, and procurement c) Manage key contracts Price Agreements and for contractor teams in order to ensure that offshore rotating equipment continues to function safely and efficiently, within budget and available resources 8. Bid Evaluation a) Provide Bid evaluation criteria to project team on selecting new equipment b) Assist in evaluating bids and provide advice to the organization of best "all round" offers regarding on-site and off-site repairs and materials procurement for rotating equipment 9. Budget Preparation/Cost Control a) Assist in the preparation of engineering & maintenance budgets and controlling costs within approved budget limits b) Contribute to cost savings/ avoidance effort with maintenance optimization exercise 10. Planning & RCAs a) Participate in major maintenance planning, including leading risk assessments and providing lead technical inputs for RCAs b) Multidisciplinary knowledge is expected at this job level and as such, its corresponding site support 11. Quality Assurance/Audits & Surveillance a) Participate in qualifying contractors and performing quality assurance surveys b) Strategize and perform audits as necessary. To ensure that the machines meet the required standards set per code or OEM or Industry best practices c) Provide and approve QAQC verifications of repair work for rotating equipment 12. Continuous Improvement: a) Work with maintenance & production teams to optimize the quality of O&M. Optimize and revamp obsolete practices that will remove redundant & overly conservative work b) Improve and update and make executable Maintenance and Operating philosophies and strategies c) Introduce best practices from other industries and operating units to improve current practices to strive for safer, better, and cheaper technologies and best practices 13. Requisitions and Work Orders a) Write work orders for appropriate maintenance tasks when necessary b) Suggest and approve material requisition proposal by maintenance team, aligning with ops and maintenance strategies to maintain optimized but adequate inventory levels c) Write and assist facilities engineering and project team to new project scope relating to rotating equipment d) On larger or critical jobs verify job preparations are done properly, and jobs are closed out effectively with lessons learned recorded Requirements 1.
