This is an exciting opportunity for a WA FIFO Power Station Operator, to join their team.

 

Key information:

  • Job Role: Power Station Operator
  • Contract: Contract to perm role
  • Roster: 15 days on, 13 days off
  • Rate: $135k plus Super
  • Start Date: 16th August 23
  • Location: FIFO out of Perth
  • Tickets Required: WA electrical license, Relevant trade qualifications, current WA drivers license, current police clearance (within 6 months of issue) or be able to obtain one, be able to pass a full comprehensive pre- employment medical and drug test.

 

Previous experience required:

  • Track record in operating and/or repairing gas/ diesel power stations. Ability to interpret all relative drawings and procedures, previous experience as an operator, excellent organizational and communication skills, intermediate computer skills.

 

Your Responsibilities will include:

  • Power station operations (5 X Cummins HSK78 gas generators)
  • Routine and breakdown maintenance of power generation and auxiliary equipment
  • Provide detailed reports during routine maintenance tasks and unplanned maintenance events
  • Managing and adhering to OHSE policies and procedures and maintaining the site to ensure it is clean and tidy
  • After hour call outs to attend the power station for faults / breakdowns
  • Analysis of power generation equipment/systems and associated auxiliary equipment.
  • Maintain accurate running hour reports, energy readings as required.
  • Attend the power station after hours while on site for faults/breakdowns.
  • Raise and maintain work order and purchase requests.
  • Ensure optimum stock levels of spares and consumables for the site requirements.

The main focus is developing renewable energy power plants across the United Kingdom with the help of their highly experienced management team and partners to allow them to deliver quality, bankable renewable power assets. Their focus is on the development of large-scale solar, wind and hybrid energy storage projects. Role: In this role you will be working closely alongside the grid manager, and if required the key management team members and land acquisition team. Supporting the Grid team in identifying and securing grid capacity both on the distribution level and national transmission level from 11kV up to 400kV network for its large-scale solar, wind and BESS projects. You will regularly communicate and liaise with the relevant DNOs and NGESO to gather all necessary intelligence to successfully source and secure grid capacity for prospective projects.The ideal candidate must have experience in power systems analysis, excellent communication skills and experience of liaising with external stakeholders such as network operators and specialist grid consultants.Furthermore, you will be actively manging relevant grid aspects of the business, building and maintaining relationships with the DNOs & NG throughout the entire development and construction process. Essential Functions: Design electrical infrastructure for photovoltaic systems, incorporating electrical engineering knowledge, solar photovoltaic system design principles, and industry best practices.Develop construction documents based on customer requirements, engineering decision-making, and compliance with NEC and CEC codes.Address comments from the Authority Having Jurisdiction (AHJ) during the permit review process, following company SOPs, to facilitate timely issuance of building permits.Conduct technical reviews of system components and ancillary devices to ensure compliance with design specifications.Provide prompt responses to Requests for Information (RFI) from field installation personnel, in accordance with company SOPs.Review testing data from internal field personnel and third-party testing agencies to ensure product quality.Provide engineering guidance and internal training to the company upon request.Support other departments with electrical questions and problem-solving throughout the construction process.Perform other assigned duties as required.
