Role:
· Manage all grid-related elements for the entire project from development through to installation and commissioning of assets.
· Advise on the relevant legislation and regulations that would impact the project’s grid connection strategy and connection to the onshore network.
· Participate in consultations with BEIS, Ofgem, NGESO and other stakeholders in the framework of the on-going work related to the OTNR.
· Analyse potential connection options, associated costs, potential impacts on the programme and associated risks.
· Manage the relationship with the key players of the interconnection process and lead application calls with NGESO and TOs.
· Monitor associated grid costs and charges and input to the financial modelling of the project.
· Monitor and manage grid connection risks in relation to changes in the design, consenting, and project programme.
Requirements:
· Bachelor or master's in electrical engineering or related discipline.
· Previous experience at a high level in a similar role.
· In-depth knowledge of the offshore wind energy industry and UK transmission system.
· Experience of development and execution of large-scale infrastructure projects.

My client is currently looking for an experienced Power Systems Engineer to join and expand their Grid Team, working alongside the Grid Development Manager. The client is a renewable energy IPP company with fully integrated development capabilities and it's head office in London. The main focus is developing renewable energy power plants across the United Kingdom with the help of their highly experienced management team and partners to allow them to deliver quality, bankable renewable power assets. The ideal candidate will possess the following qualification, skills, knowledge and attributes: Hons Degree (Lvl 8 FETAC) in Electrical Engineering essential; Post-Graduate (Lvl 9 FETAC) qualification in a relevant discipline would be an advantage for this role;7 years’ experience managing the grid connection process for transmission connected projects in the generator or utility sector; Significant technical experience of HV electrical design and consenting of 110/220/400 kV infrastructure, HV cable (≥ 110 kV) experience, verifying / approving third party design, contract Management, financial /cost management and project management required;Excellent technical report writing and communications skills essential; Proficient in AutoCAD and PSSE or other similar electrical design software would be an advantage

To be considered for this role, you should have: Thorough understanding of the National Electricity Rules.Working knowledge of the current NEM network status, potential constraints, upgrades, and connection opportunities.Experience in dealing with AEMO, the Network Service Providers and grid modelling consultants.Capable of dealing with grid connection issues.
