We are seeking a Solar Sales Engineer to work closely with our partners and customers, providing technical support and assistance throughout the sales process. The successful candidate will be responsible for supporting customers in winning solar projects through simulation and design, as well as handling after-sales service and RMA cases. Strong internal communication with our headquarters is essential for this role.
Responsibilities:
Technical Support and Training
- Collaborate closely with the sales team, providing technical support and expertise on Sunman products and installations. Address all technical inquiries from partners and customers, offering solutions and guidance as needed.
- Conduct technical training sessions for Installers, terminal technicians, preparing training materials and documents. Organize webinars and meetings with industrial and governmental associations to showcase technical installations and promote sunman's solutions.
Cooperation and Partnerships:
- Coordinate cooperation with local institutes, insurers, and regulatory bodies to obtain and renew necessary approvals.
- Collaborate with roof material suppliers to develop approved bonding solutions and ensure compliance with market standards.
Claim Investigation and Resolution:
Investigate claims and technical issues, working closely with the headquarters to find effective solutions. Communicate and coordinate technical issues during contract execution to ensure smooth project delivery.
Documentation and Compliance:
Develop and maintain local Installation Manuals in compliance with local regulations and language requirements. Assist production, R&D, and marketing departments with technical input and product connection.
Qualification :
Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related field.
Proven experience in technical support or engineering roles within the solar energy industry.
Working experience with PV syst or relevant simulation programs
Fluent in Japanese, with the ability to communicate effectively in a professional setting.
Proficiency in English is preferred but not mandatory.

Ideal candidates will have a background in electrical engineering.This is a hybrid-remote position, reporting to either our Cedar Rapids, IA or Madison, WI office. Candidates must be residents of Iowa or Wisconsin.What You Will Do: Collaborate with engineering and operations teams to plan, implement, and support distribution grid programs, projects, and initiatives using various platforms, including: SCADA (Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition)ADMS (Advanced Distribution Management System)OMS (Outage Management System)DERMS (Distributed Energy Resources Management System)FLISR (Fault Location, Isolation, and Service Restoration)VVO/VVC (Volt-VAR Optimization and Volt-VAR Control) Work with internal and external stakeholders to develop recommendations for enhancing operating tools, situational awareness, and overall distribution system performance and reliability. Collaborate with field operations, engineering, IT, and transmission partners to provide long-term grid operations support, including electric and gas distribution system strategy, analysis, implementation, operation, and maintenance of complex technology systems. Maintain the data necessary for ADMS, DERMS, and other power system platforms. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to rectify errors between systems and provide feedback on recurring issues for new project analysis and scoping. Develop an understanding of customer needs and expectations and propose solutions for moderately complex issues. Participate in identifying and solving problems within the assigned area of responsibility with guidance from a supervisor. Apply governmental and organizational engineering standards, interpret policies, and exercise discretion and judgment in resolving moderately complex problems. Demonstrate critical thinking and communication skills necessary for developing recommendations that offer technically sound and cost-effective solutions to specific problems. Education Requirements: A Bachelor's Degree in an engineering program accredited through the Engineering Accreditation Commission is required. A Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering degree is preferred. Required Experience: 2+ years of related engineering experience.
