About the Opportunity


We are representing a leading international renewable energy platform seeking an Asset Management Associate to join its growing team in Tokyo.


This role will support the financial and operational performance of a portfolio of renewable energy assets, including solar and wind projects. Working across project finance, asset management and operations, you will gain hands-on exposure to financing activities, lender management, financial performance analysis and the ongoing optimisation of operating assets.


The position offers an excellent opportunity for an early-career finance professional looking to build broader experience within the renewable energy and infrastructure sector.


Key Responsibilities

  • Support project finance activities across renewable energy projects, including ongoing financing and loan management requirements.
  • Monitor and manage loan covenants, financing agreements and other contractual obligations, ensuring continued compliance with financing requirements.
  • Support relationships and ongoing communication with lenders, investors and other financial stakeholders.
  • Track and analyse the financial performance of renewable energy assets, including revenue, operating costs and cash flows.
  • Support financial reporting and analysis to improve asset performance, optimise capital structures and maximise investment returns.
  • Work closely with operations and technical asset management teams to monitor the performance and efficiency of operating assets.
  • Monitor key asset performance indicators, including energy generation, availability and downtime, identifying areas requiring further attention.
  • Coordinate with contractors, service providers and technical teams to support smooth and efficient asset operations.
  • Support risk management activities and ensure compliance with applicable regulations, financing agreements and loan covenants.
  • Collaborate across finance, technical and operational teams to support effective decision-making and efficient management of the asset portfolio.

Experience Needed 

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, Business, Accounting or a related discipline.
  • At least 2 years of experience in asset management or a closely related financing role.
  • Experience within renewable energy, infrastructure or other project-financed sectors would be highly advantageous.
  • Exposure to loan agreement execution, financial modelling and/or accounting would be beneficial.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities with excellent attention to detail.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively across different functions and stakeholders.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word and PowerPoint.
