This is an opportunity to take ownership of design delivery across a complex, technically demanding project, working from pre-construction through to completion.

The Role

As Design Manager, you will lead and coordinate the design process, ensuring that all design information is compliant, coordinated, buildable and delivered in line with programme, budget and quality requirements.

Key responsibilities include:

Ensuring design compliance with employer’s requirements, contractual obligations and statutory regulations.

Developing and managing design programmes aligned with procurement and construction activities.

Managing design interfaces, resolving technical issues and overseeing clash detection.

Leading technical reviews, design approvals and design assurance processes.

Managing design risks, change control and technical queries.

Driving buildability, value engineering and cost optimisation.

Ensuring compliance with CDM, Building Regulations, health and safety and sustainability requirements.

Supporting construction teams with design-related queries and ensuring the production of as-built information and O&M documentation.

Building strong relationships with clients and project stakeholders while supporting and mentoring junior design team members.

The ability to manage competing priorities and engage confidently with project stakeholders.
