EHS Manager

The EHS Manager will advise and influence all operations employees and contractors on the implementation of the company’s EHS policy and management system. They will facilitate the implementation of effective ongoing EHS programs and strategies to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and support the elimination or reduction of unwanted events such as injuries, illnesses, unsafe conditions, environmental releases, excessive exposure to chemical and physical agents, and failures to obtain or comply with operating permits.


Working Hours

Monday to Thursday: 8:00am – 4:30pm (including a 30-minute break)

Friday: 8:00am – 1:00pm

Primary Responsibilities

Reporting directly to the Plant Manager and functionally to the Global EHS Operations Manager, serving as an integral part of senior management and providing strategic advice and accountability.

Develop and maintain EHS programs consistent with the company’s operational framework.

Develop and implement site-specific EHS (Environment, Health and Safety) programs, including emergency preparedness, fire protection, electrical safety, risk assessments, safe work procedures, hazardous waste management, EHS training, ergonomics, contractor safety, machine safeguarding, chemical safety, personal protective equipment (PPE), and crisis management.

Collaborate with site operational and functional managers to ensure all activities are clearly identified, risks are assessed, and appropriate safe work procedures and controls are implemented.

Manage injury and illness cases, introducing and monitoring programs to reduce incident rates.

Identify, coordinate, and complete all required EHS regulatory training for the site.

Develop audit and inspection programs, ensuring findings are identified and closed within agreed timelines.

Support and implement the organization’s EHS strategy and ensure effective deployment at site level.

Conduct EHS culture surveys and develop action plans to improve the working environment.

Support, develop, and implement contractor management programs.

Maintain site security processes in line with company requirements.

Develop proactive health surveillance and ergonomics initiatives.

Provide EHS support across all operational business areas, including customer-specific requirements.

Share EHS expertise and support other operational fixed facility sites.

Manage EHS resources effectively, developing competencies, leadership, credibility, and recognition.

Participate in and advise on EHS matters related to new technologies, process introductions, and process changes, including implementation of Management of Change (MOC) procedures.

Participate in and advise on EHS matters related to facility modifications and construction activities, ensuring compliance with MOC processes.

Lead governance and compliance at the site in accordance with local regulations and company requirements.

Manage environmental protection programs, including air emissions permits, hazardous waste management, and wastewater management.

Ensure the reliability and execution of emergency response and business continuity plans.

Oversee the identification and timely submission of all applicable EHS compliance reports to internal stakeholders and external regulators.

Stay current on EHS regulatory requirements and technical developments, sharing relevant information to ensure compliance and minimize risk.

Continuously observe plant operations and processes for potential safety concerns and work proactively to resolve them.

Act as the custodian of EHS data integrity and reporting accuracy for the site.

Qualifications Required

University degree in Environmental Science, Occupational Health & Safety, Engineering, or a related technical discipline.

Minimum of 5 years’ EHS experience in manufacturing, field services, or construction operations.

Strong knowledge of local EHS legislation and compliance requirements.

Fluent written and spoken English and local language.

Strong communication and influencing skills.

3+ years’ experience in a leadership role preferred.

Experience working within a matrix organization.

Strong computer literacy.
