Motor Field Service Engineer

Position Summary: We are looking for an experienced MV Motor and Generator Specialist to independently lead field execution including supervision of installation, commissioning and maintenance,. He will be the primary technical lead for diagnosing complex electrical issues and ensuring the long-term reliability of rotating assets.

Key Responsibilities:

• Supervise the installation and carry out the commissioning of large MV motors

• Lead the site execution of major maintenance overhauls, including rotor/stator inspections and assembly.

• Perform advanced electrical testing: Partial Discharge (PD), Dissipation Factor (Tan Delta), and High Potential (Hi-Pot) testing.

• Lead troubleshooting efforts for equipment failures (ground faults, inter-turn shorts, bearing currents, and insulation breakdown).

• Perform vibration analysis, alignment checks, and clearance verification.

• Generate detailed technical reports with Root Cause Analysis (RCA) and recommendations for asset life extension.

• Coordinate with mechanical teams to ensure proper machine alignment and cooling system performance.

Required Qualifications:

• Bachelor's Degree in Electrical or mechanical Engineering or a related discipline.

• Minimum 5 years of experience in MV motor and generator maintenance and diagnostics.

• Expertise in rotating machine failure modes (electrical, thermal, and mechanical).

• Proficiency in advanced diagnostic software and equipment (e.g., PD testers, VLF testing).

• Deep understanding of standards for MV rotating machinery.

• Proven ability to lead site crews and manage project timelines independently.
