An established manufacturing organisation is seeking an experienced HSSE leader to oversee and strengthen its Health, Safety, Security and Environmental functions across a large-scale production facility.
This role will provide strategic leadership across operational safety, environmental compliance, quality and site security while partnering closely with plant leadership to drive operational excellence, sustainability initiatives and continuous improvement programmes.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and develop the Health, Safety, Security and Environmental functions to support safe and reliable plant operations.
- Establish, implement and continuously improve HSSE policies, procedures and management systems.
- Drive environmental and sustainability initiatives in line with corporate and regulatory requirements.
- Lead site-wide safety, environmental and compliance audits, ensuring timely closure of findings and corrective actions.
- Partner with production, engineering and support functions to embed HSSE best practices across the organisation.
- Act as the key liaison with regulatory authorities and external stakeholders on matters relating to safety, environmental protection and fire safety.
- Support the implementation of risk management frameworks and operational governance programmes.
- Promote a strong safety culture and lead continuous improvement initiatives across the site.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering, Environmental Engineering, Safety Engineering or a related discipline.
- Proven experience leading and developing multidisciplinary teams within large-scale manufacturing or process environments.
- Extensive experience of more than 15 years in HSE roles within oil & gas, petrochemicals, refining, oleochemicals or other heavy process industries.
- Strong knowledge of Malaysian safety, environmental and industrial regulations.
- Practical understanding of both process facilities and supporting utilities infrastructure, including wastewater treatment, boilers, chillers and related systems.
- Proven experience leading multidisciplinary teams within a manufacturing environment.
- Professional certifications in safety or environmental management are advantageous.
- Strong communication, stakeholder management and leadership capabilities.
- Fluency in English is essential; Bahasa Malaysia and Mandarin language skills would be advantageous.
