Job Title: HSE Manager (Site-Based)
Location: Germany (Onshore Wind Project Sites)
Contract Type: 12-Month Contract (Potential Extension / Remobilisation)
Rotation: 3 Weeks On / 1 Week Off
Start Date: ASAP / Negotiable
Role Overview
We are seeking an experienced HSE Manager to support onshore wind projects across Germany. This is a site-based role, responsible for driving Health, Safety, and Environmental standards across the construction, installation, and commissioning phases of wind turbine projects.
The successful candidate will play a key role in ensuring compliance with local legislation, client requirements, and company HSE policies while promoting a strong safety-first culture across site teams and subcontractors.
Key Responsibilities
Lead and oversee all Health, Safety & Environmental activities on assigned wind farm sites.
Ensure full compliance with German HSE regulations, project-specific requirements, and internal procedures.
Conduct regular site inspections, audits, and risk assessments.
Develop, review, and implement RAMS (Risk Assessments & Method Statements).
Deliver HSE inductions, toolbox talks, and ongoing training to site personnel.
Investigate incidents, near misses, and non-conformances, producing reports and corrective actions.
Monitor contractor performance and ensure adherence to HSE standards.
Support emergency preparedness and response planning.
Liaise with site management, project stakeholders, and regulatory bodies as required.
Promote continuous improvement and a proactive safety culture across the project.
Requirements
Proven experience in an HSE Manager / HSE Advisor role within construction, energy, or infrastructure sectors.
NEBOSH Certificate / Diploma (or equivalent) – essential.
Valid Right to Work in Germany – essential.
Strong understanding of on-site HSE compliance and risk management.
Experience working on onshore wind projects is highly desirable.
Previous OEM experience within wind turbine installation or commissioning is advantageous.
Full driving licence and confidence operating a 4x4 vehicle on site access roads.
Strong communication skills with the ability to influence safe behaviours across multicultural teams.
Fluent English required; German language skills would be beneficial.
