M&A Director, Asia Pacific

About the Opportunity


Our client is a leading international developer and operator of sustainable infrastructure assets with an established presence across the Asia Pacific region. As part of its continued regional expansion, the organisation is seeking an experienced M&A Director to lead the evaluation and execution of strategic investments, acquisitions, partnerships and portfolio optimisation initiatives across Asia Pacific.


Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the evaluation, structuring and execution of acquisitions, divestments, joint ventures and strategic investment opportunities across Asia Pacific.
  • Build and review complex financial models, valuation analyses and investment cases to support commercial decision-making.
  • Coordinate end-to-end transaction execution, including financial, legal, commercial, technical and tax due diligence alongside internal stakeholders and external advisors.
  • Support the preparation and negotiation of transaction documentation, commercial proposals and partnership agreements.
  • Develop investment memoranda, presentations and recommendations for senior management and investment committees.
  • Conduct market intelligence, strategic analysis and portfolio reviews to identify new investment opportunities and support long-term growth initiatives.
  • Evaluate greenfield and operating infrastructure projects, assessing commercial viability, risk profile and strategic value.
  • Partner closely with regional business teams, functional leaders and global stakeholders to drive successful transaction execution.
  • Mentor junior investment professionals and maintain high standards across financial analysis and transaction delivery.
  • Contribute to broader corporate strategy and investment initiatives as required.

Experiences Required

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Business, Economics, Engineering or a related discipline. An MBA or postgraduate qualification is advantageous.
  • More than 8 years of relevant experience in mergers & acquisitions, corporate finance, investment banking, private equity, infrastructure investing or strategic investments.
  • Strong financial modelling and valuation capability, including discounted cash flow analysis and investment appraisal.
  • Proven experience leading or supporting cross-border M&A transactions, strategic partnerships, joint ventures or divestments.
  • Experience within the infrastructure, energy or renewable energy sectors is highly desirable.
  • Strong commercial judgement with the ability to assess investment risks and opportunities.
  • Excellent stakeholder management skills with experience working across regional and international teams.
  • Strong communication and presentation skills, with experience preparing materials for senior leadership and investment committees.
  • Ability to manage multiple transactions simultaneously within a fast-paced environment.
