About the Role


We are seeking an experienced Offshore QHSE Advisor to support the construction phase of a major offshore renewable energy project. The successful candidate will play a key role in promoting and maintaining the highest standards of Quality, Health, Safety and Environmental (QHSE) performance across offshore construction activities.


Working closely with project management, contractors and offshore personnel, you will provide practical guidance, monitor compliance with project requirements, and help foster a strong safety culture throughout the construction campaign.


Key Responsibilities

Provide visible QHSE leadership onboard offshore construction vessels and work sites.

Monitor offshore construction activities to ensure compliance with project procedures, applicable legislation and industry best practices.

Conduct regular inspections, audits and workplace observations, identifying opportunities for continual improvement.

Support the implementation of project QHSE management systems and contractor assurance processes.

Participate in toolbox talks, pre-job briefings and safety meetings.

Promote proactive hazard identification and risk management through active engagement with offshore teams.

Investigate incidents, near misses and non-conformances, ensuring effective root cause analysis and follow-up actions.

Verify that permits to work, risk assessments and method statements are implemented effectively.

Review contractor performance against QHSE expectations and provide timely feedback.

Support emergency response activities and drills as required.

Produce accurate daily, weekly and monthly QHSE reports.

Liaise effectively with client representatives, vessel management and contractor teams to maintain safe and efficient operations.

Required Experience

Demonstrable experience as a QHSE Advisor, HSE Advisor or similar role within offshore construction.

Previous experience supporting offshore wind farm construction projects is essential.

Experience working onboard offshore construction vessels, heavy lift vessels, installation vessels or similar marine assets.

Strong knowledge of offshore construction activities including lifting operations, marine operations, installation works and permit to work systems.

Experience conducting inspections, audits and incident investigations.

Familiarity with ISO 45001, ISO 14001 and ISO 9001 management systems.

Strong understanding of behavioural safety principles and contractor management.

Qualifications

NEBOSH General Certificate (minimum); NEBOSH Diploma or equivalent is advantageous.

Recognised incident investigation training.

Internal Auditor qualification is desirable.

Offshore Medical certificate.

Valid offshore survival certification (BOSIET/FOET or equivalent).

GWO Basic Safety Training (preferred).

Full, valid passport and ability to travel internationally.
