Project Manager – Hospitality & Buildings

About the role
The client is expanding its Project Management team in Germany and is looking for an experienced Project Manager to join the Berlin team, with responsibility primarily across the hospitality sector.
The role will focus particularly on hotel and hospitality projects, although experience across other major building projects will also be considered.
You will work closely with senior project leadership and clients, providing hands-on project management and construction expertise. The successful candidate will be someone who can take ownership quickly, operate independently and make an immediate contribution to projects.
Key responsibilities
Provide client-side project management support and act as a key point of contact for the Project Manager and client.
Take ownership of project management activities and drive projects forward from day one.
Provide advice to clients on project team structures, procurement and delivery models.
Review and sense-check construction progress and delivery by the General Contractor.
Provide project leadership and coordinate project stakeholders throughout the delivery process.
Support clients with project-related decision-making and delivery strategy.
Identify potential project issues and work proactively to resolve them.
Bring strong construction knowledge and practical, site-based experience to project delivery.
Ideal background
We are looking for an experienced construction professional with a strong project management background.
The ideal candidate will have:
A degree in Civil Engineering, Architecture, Building Construction, Design, Planning or a related discipline.
10+ years of relevant professional experience.
A strong construction and project management background.
Significant on-site / construction experience.
Current experience as a Project Manager, or operating at a level close to Senior Project Manager.
Experience acting as a Project Lead or Deputy Project Lead would be advantageous.
Construction Management experience is a significant plus.
The ability to work independently and take ownership of projects and deliverables.
Consultancy experience is not essential. Candidates coming from a strong contractor, developer or client-side construction background are encouraged to apply.
Relevant project experience
Hospitality and hotel projects are the priority, but experience in other major building sectors will also be considered.

Experience with refurbishment and renovation projects would be an additional advantage.
Language requirements
Fluent German is essential.
Professional English skills are desirable but not essential.
Qualifications & certifications
A relevant university degree in building construction, architecture, engineering, design, planning or a similar discipline is important.
PMP / PMI certification is not required.
