Site Inspector – Energy Infrastructure


Location: Jänschwalde & Heinersbrück, Germany


Contract: Long-term contract opportunity


Working Pattern: Full-time


Project Split: 60% Jänschwalde / 40% Heinersbrück


Sector: Energy / Battery Energy Storage / Electrical Infrastructure


The Opportunity


Spencer Ogden is currently supporting a major energy infrastructure project in Germany and is looking for an experienced Site Inspector to join the project team across two significant construction sites in Jänschwalde and Heinersbrück.


This is an excellent opportunity for a quality-focused professional with experience in large-scale construction, electrical infrastructure, BESS, substations, PV or energy projects to take a key role in ensuring construction and installation works meet the required quality standards.


You will work closely with the Site Management and Quality teams, contractors and suppliers to ensure quality is maintained throughout the construction and installation phases.


Key Responsibilities


Quality Control & Site Inspections


Carry out quality inspections across civil, electrical and installation works.

Inspect incoming materials and equipment, including cables, battery containers, inverters and transformers.

Check delivered equipment for transport damage and compliance with project requirements.

Monitor installation activities including foundations, cable routes, cable pulling and electrical installation.

Conduct inspections in accordance with approved Inspection & Test Plans (ITPs).

Manage and attend Hold Points and Witness Points.

Monitor the quality of work completed by subcontractors and construction contractors.

Defect & Non-Conformance Management


Identify quality issues and defects at an early stage.

Record, document and track defects through to resolution.

Support the preparation of NCRs, deviation reports and quality documentation.

Work with contractors to ensure corrective actions and remedial works are completed.

Support inspection, testing and final acceptance activities.

Quality Documentation


Maintain accurate inspection records using Procore.

Review and collect:

Delivery documentation

Material certificates

Inspection reports

Test certificates

Quality records

Maintain project quality files and documentation.

Review red-line drawings and support the development of accurate As-Built documentation.

Stakeholder Management


Work closely with the Site Manager, Project Quality Manager, suppliers and subcontractors.

Attend regular construction and site meetings.

Communicate quality requirements and issues effectively.

Ensure quality actions are followed through to completion.

About You


We are looking for a hands-on Site Inspector who is comfortable working in a live construction environment and has a strong understanding of quality requirements across major infrastructure projects.


Essential Experience


3–5+ years' experience in Quality Assurance / Quality Control on large-scale construction projects.

Background in electrical engineering, construction, energy or a related technical discipline.

Strong understanding of construction quality control and inspection processes.

Experience working with ITPs, FQP, FQR, Hold Points and Witness Points.

Experience inspecting subcontractor and contractor works.

Ability to read and understand electrical drawings and schematics.

Strong understanding of electrical installation and construction activities.

Fluent German and good English.

Desirable Experience


Experience within one or more of the following environments would be highly advantageous:


Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS)

Electrical substations

Renewable energy projects

Solar / PV projects

Power generation

Major electrical infrastructure

Large-scale industrial construction

Experience with EPLAN or S-Plan is particularly desirable. Candidates with an electrical planning/design background and strong drawing interpretation skills are encouraged to apply.


A Technician / Meister qualification in Construction or Electrical Engineering, or additional Quality Management / Quality Control qualifications, would also be advantageous.
