Role Title: Senior Project Engineer
Position Type: Embedded Contractor
Reporting To: Civil Project Engineering Lead
Role Purpose
The Senior Project Engineer - Dam is responsible for management and integration of all engineering and technical design activities associated with the project/s. The role provides coordination and oversight of the design development process to ensure the project achieves technically sound, constructible, risk-informed and deliverable outcomes aligned with project objectives, approvals requirements, operational constraints and programme requirements.
The role acts as the primary interface between the project delivery team and engineering design consultants and is responsible for maintaining alignment across technical disciplines, design packages, investigations, reviews and technical decision-making processes.
Key Responsibilities
? Lead and coordinate the overall design development process across all engineering disciplines and technical workstreams.
? Manage design consultants and technical advisors on behalf of the project.
? Coordinate technical interfaces between engineering, approvals, procurement, construction planning and operational stakeholders.
? Establish and manage design delivery programmes, review cycles, design maturity tracking and technical deliverables.
? Manage technical risks, assumptions, design issues and interface constraints throughout the design process.
? Coordinate constructability input into design development and support integration of construction methodology considerations.
? Support technical decision-making processes, including options development, value engineering and risk reduction activities.
? Coordinate technical reviews, independent reviews and Technical Review Panel (TRP) interactions as required.
? Ensure engineering outputs are aligned with project requirements, dam safety obligations, regulatory expectations and relevant standards and guidelines.
? Support development of procurement documentation and technical requirements for contractor engagement.
? Maintain oversight of design changes, technical queries, design interfaces and engineering issue resolution.
? Support the Project Manager in project planning, governance, reporting and risk management activities relating to engineering delivery.

Experience and Capability
? Demonstrated experience managing multidisciplinary engineering, design activities on major infrastructure, dam, water or civil projects.
? Strong understanding of engineering design development processes from concept through detailed design and construction support.
? Experience coordinating technical interfaces across multiple disciplines and stakeholders.
? Strong understanding of constructability, project delivery and engineering risk management principles.
? Experience working within owner-side, consultant and/or contractor delivery environments.
? Strong communication, coordination and technical integration capability.
? Familiarity with ANCOLD guidelines, dam safety frameworks and regulated infrastructure environments desirable
