The Role

We are looking for an experienced Site Manager to lead site activities for brownfield electrical installation projects in Norway.

The role will involve managing site administration, coordinating installation activities, and maintaining responsibility for Environment, Health & Safety (EHS) on site. The projects involve work within existing high-voltage electrical infrastructure, requiring a strong understanding of working in an operational brownfield environment.

The Site Manager will work closely with the project team and the client's site organisation, ensuring that all site activities are delivered safely, efficiently and in accordance with project requirements.

A specialist installation contractor will carry out the demolition and installation works. Their site foreman will be based on site and will report directly to the Site Manager.

Key Responsibilities

Take overall responsibility for day-to-day site management and administration.

Act as the primary site representative for the project organisation.

Maintain responsibility for site EHS, ensuring compliance with project and client requirements.

Coordinate and supervise site activities associated with demolition, installation and commissioning.

Manage interfaces between the installation contractor, project team, client and other site stakeholders.

Provide direction to the installation contractor's site foreman and monitor progress against the project schedule.

Ensure work is planned and executed safely within an existing electrical infrastructure environment.

Coordinate permits, access, site documentation and other site administration activities.

Monitor site progress, quality and compliance with project requirements.

Support planning and coordination of site resources, deliveries and work fronts.

Identify and escalate site issues, risks and deviations.

Participate in site meetings and provide regular progress updates to the project organisation.

Ensure that site activities are properly documented and that relevant records are maintained.

Support commissioning and project close-out activities as required.

Requirements

Proven experience as a Site Manager, Site Supervisor or similar site leadership role on electrical installation projects.

Demonstrable site experience within electrical installations, preferably in high-voltage or power infrastructure environments.

Experience working on brownfield projects and within or adjacent to existing electrical infrastructure.

Strong understanding of site safety and EHS requirements.

Experience coordinating subcontractors and installation teams.

Ability to manage multiple site interfaces and maintain effective communication between contractors, client representatives and the project team.

Fluent in Norwegian, Swedish or Danish, both written and spoken.

Good working knowledge of English.

Strong organisational and communication skills.

Ability to work independently and take ownership of site activities.

Relevant electrical, engineering, construction or site-management background.

Working Pattern

The normal working pattern will be a 4/3 rotation, primarily Monday to Thursday, with occasional Fridays when required.

No weekend work is expected under the normal working arrangement.

Due to the location of the first project, candidates based in the greater Oslo area would have a clear practical advantage, particularly in terms of minimising travel time to and from site.

Project Environment

The first assignment is a brownfield electrical infrastructure project in Norway, involving demolition and installation works within an existing substation environment.

A similar scope is planned for a second project in Southern Norway during 2028, providing the opportunity for the successful candidate to continue into a second project following completion of the first assignment.

What We Are Looking For

The successful candidate will be a hands-on and experienced site professional who is comfortable taking responsibility for the day-to-day management of an electrical installation site. You should be confident coordinating contractors, managing EHS requirements and working with multiple stakeholders in an operational brownfield environment.

Experience of similar substation, SVC, HV or other power infrastructure projects would be highly relevant.
