Spencer Ogden Featured in EIC’s 2025 Survive & Thrive Report: Leading the Way in Sustainability Staffing

We’re proud to share that Spencer Ogden has been featured in the EIC Survive & Thrive Insight Report 2025 – now in its ninth year as one of the energy industry’s most anticipated annual publications.

The report spotlights 139 success stories from across the global energy supply chain, exploring how companies are growing in uncertain markets and evolving alongside the energy transition. This year’s insights underline the rising demand for long-term, purpose-driven strategies – and we’re honoured to be recognised for the transformational journey we’ve taken to become a sustainability staffing leader.

Our inclusion focuses on how Spencer Ogden has pivoted from a traditional oil and gas recruiter to a go-to partner for sustainability talent, with renewables now making up over 70% of our global operations – a 53% increase in just one year. It also highlights how we’ve embedded client centricity throughout the business and ESG initiatives to create a real impact in the staffing world of today, delivering sophisticated workforce solutions.

The piece features insights from our Global Client Services Director James Pipe, Global ESG Manager Regan Callender, and Emily Abbott, Senior Marketing Manager, as we shared how our business model has evolved – not just to meet market demand, but to lead it.

Some highlights from our story:

  • A 53% growth in our renewables business in 2023
  • We restructured operations around three core sectors (sustainability, natural resources and infrastructure) and created dedicated teams with specialised expertise
  • Key ESG milestones, including removing 12,240kg of ocean plastic and donating £15,000+ to climate charity Cool Earth
  • We made key hires to strengthen our global client services team and better support different client needs
  • The launch of our sector-first sustainability training programme for sales teams, contributing to new business
  • A 35% reduction in office electricity emissions and a 107% increase in employee volunteering

Being featured in this year’s report is a milestone that reflects the incredible work of our people, the trust of our clients, and our commitment to delivering workforce solutions that align profit with purpose.
