Lead Engineer - Internal Quality Construction and Review, Chile

Roles & Responsibilities


1. Quality Management System (QMS) Development


Design, implement, and uphold a comprehensive QMS tailored to the project’s needs.


Define and document quality standards, processes, and guidelines in line with project objectives and organizational policies.


2. Quality Planning


Partner with the Project Manager to create quality plans for each project phase.


Set clear KPIs to track and evaluate quality performance throughout the project lifecycle.


3. Quality Assurance


Carry out regular audits to verify adherence to established quality standards and procedures.


Identify improvement opportunities and apply corrective or preventive measures as needed.


4. Documentation & Reporting


Keep thorough and accurate records of all quality-related activities.


Produce regular quality performance reports and present findings to stakeholders.


5. Training & Awareness


Deliver training sessions to project team members on quality policies and procedures.


Promote a culture of quality consciousness and continuous improvement within the team.


6. Risk Management


Collaborate with the project team to identify and evaluate quality-related risks.


Formulate and implement risk mitigation strategies to safeguard project quality.


7. Supplier & Subcontractor Quality Management


Assess and monitor suppliers’ and subcontractors’ adherence to quality requirements.


Build and maintain partnerships with reliable, high-quality vendors.


8. Compliance


Ensure all quality management activities meet internal requirements, industry regulations, and relevant certifications.


Stay informed on evolving quality management practices and standards.


Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field (such as Quality Management, Engineering, etc.).
  • Extensive experience in project quality management, preferably within a related industry.
  • Possession of a quality management certification (e.g., ASQ Certified Manager of Quality/Organizational Excellence) is a plus.
  • In-depth understanding of quality management principles, standards, and methodologies.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong analytical thinking skills, with the ability to identify and resolve quality-related issues.
  • Proficiency in using quality management tools and software.

Preferred Skills:

  • Quality auditing skills and experience in conducting quality audits.
  • Familiarity with Six Sigma or other quality process improvement methodologies.
