Electrical Engineer

For almost 30 years, theirs in-house specialist departments have been providing all steps of project development and implementation: from site assessment, planning, engineering, permitting and financing to construction, energy sales, grid connection, operational management and maintenance. Summary of position

You will support renewable energy projects as an Electrical Engineer through the development, preconstruction, and construction phases.

The position involves significant interaction with other staff as part of a multi-disciplinary team including staff in offices in UK, Republic of Ireland and Germany.

Your duties and responsibilities

• Developing and optimising grid connection solutions for wind, solar and energy storage projects in Northern Ireland, Scotland and Ireland.

• Preparing grid applications, interacting with grid operators and managing the grid application process.

• Providing input for Pre-feasibility studies and technical risk assessment.

• Representing on industry grid policy committees / working groups.

• Supporting project tendering, acquisition processes and project execution.

• Developing layout diagrams and associated cost estimates for renewable energy projects

• evaluate options of the grid connection from a technical, legal and commercial point of view

• support grid simulations

• will be involved in the planning of communication, protection and SCADA technology

• produce AutoCAD drawings (circuit and communication plans)

Your qualifications and skills required for the post

• You have a degree in Electrical Engineering or an alternative, equivalent level of training / education with a minimum of 3 years PQE.

• Excellent communication skills (both written and verbal), confident attitude.

• Excellent interpersonal skills with ability to cooperate with an international Development Project Team.

• Self-motivated with problem solving attitude.

• Full driving licence and access to a car.

• You are willing to travel domestically and to Germany for training as required.
