Data Center Estimator – Electrical Subcontracting
Location: Northern Virginia (Travel or Relocation Required)
We are seeking an experienced Data Center Estimator with a strong electrical subcontracting background to join a growing team delivering mission-critical infrastructure projects. This role will be responsible for preparing detailed cost estimates for large-scale data center projects, ensuring accuracy, competitiveness, and alignment with client requirements. Candidates should be ready to travel regularly or relocate to Northern Virginia to support ongoing and upcoming projects in the region.
Key Responsibilities
Prepare accurate cost estimates for data center electrical systems, from early conceptual budgets to final bid submissions.
Analyze drawings, specifications, and RFP documents to determine scope and requirements.
Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and procurement teams to ensure estimates reflect project execution plans.
Solicit and evaluate subcontractor and supplier bids; develop competitive pricing strategies.
Track and update cost databases, historical data, and market pricing trends.
Participate in client meetings, site visits, and pre-bid conferences as required.
Requirements
Proven experience in electrical estimating, preferably with a subcontractor in data center or mission-critical projects.
Strong understanding of electrical systems, codes, and construction practices.
Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications.
Excellent communication, negotiation, and organizational skills.
Willingness to travel frequently or relocate to Northern Virginia.
