Job Responsibilities:

  • Ensure adherence to OSHA, EPA, and other relevant regulations and standards.
  • Prepare and submit required reports, permits, and documentation to regulatory agencies.
  • Conduct risk assessments and hazard analyses to identify potential safety issues and implement corrective actions.
  • Oversee and conduct regular HSE audits, inspections, and investigations.
  • Liaise with Construction Manager on workplace safety, health and environmental issues.
  • Maintain and improve the risk management system and conduct risk assessments.
  • Organize and promote EHS activities and raise safety awareness among site personnel.
  • Enforce safety standards, conduct safety training, and promote safety programs.
  • Measure, monitor and report on WSH performance and safety statistics.
  • Establish and maintain Emergency Preparedness and Response Plans and other safety programs.
  • Lead the Safety team and subcontractors in implementing safety systems at sites.
  • Conduct team/individual WSH inspections and produce reports ensuring safety compliance.
  • Investigate incidents and recommend preventive measures.
  • Facilitate and conduct internal auditing to ensure compliance with ISO9001, ISO14001, and OHSAS45001 standards.
  • Ensure legal compliance to all statutory safety and Environmental regulations.
  • Carry out other duties as may be assigned by Management.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Health and Safety, Environmental Science, Engineering, or a related field.
  • Professional certifications such as CSP, CIH, or CHMM are highly desirable.
  • Registered Workplace Safety & Health Officer.
  • Minimum 15+ years’ experience, with at least 10 years as an EHS Officer or Advisor on complex industrial projects.
  • Proven experience managing HSE programs in the USA, including familiarity with OSHA and EPA regulations.
  • Strong communication skills and excellent customer orientation.
  • Deep knowledge of construction EHS best practices, legal aspects, and hazard management.
  • Proven ability to manage a safety program and create a safety culture.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
