Manufacturing Quality Technician (6 month rolling contract)


Role Overview

We are seeking an experienced a Manufacturing Quality Technician to provide contract support to our quality and inspection operations. This role plays a key part in ensuring product conformity, strengthening inspection processes, and driving continuous improvement across the manufacturing workflow. The successful candidate will contribute to process optimisation, inspection report validation, and the ongoing development of our quality management systems (QMS).


Candidate Profile

You will be well-suited to this role if you bring:

· Broad experience in manufacturing quality, including nonconformance handling, inspection reporting, and review/approval of inspection documentation.

· Strong knowledge of continuous improvement practices such as TPM and 5S.

· Excellent diligence and a commitment to delivering consistently high-quality work.

· Ability to write, update, and maintain SOPs and work instructions.

· A collaborative approach with the ability to work across multiple departments to identify and implement effective solutions.

· Competence with IT systems, including ERP platforms and Microsoft Office.


Preferred Experience

· Castings, additive manufacturing, and machined part inspection.

· SAP ERP systems.

· Zeiss Piweb inspection database.

· NADCAP procedures and audit participation.


Key Responsibilities


Process Improvement

· Identify, lead, and support process improvement initiatives within the inspection area.

· Create and revise SOPs, procedures, and related QMS documentation to strengthen operational consistency and compliance.

Inspection & Reporting

· Review and approve inspection reports to ensure they meet quality, accuracy, and compliance standards.

· Support the management, organisation, and continuous enhancement of the Piweb inspection database and associated workflows.

· Serve as a point of contact for colleagues seeking guidance on inspection or manufacturing quality matters.

Quality Systems & Compliance

· Ensure all quality activities are executed with integrity and aligned with best industry practices.

· Contribute to internal and external audit readiness and support audit execution as required.

· Support corrective and preventive action (CAPA) processes to resolve issues and prevent recurrence.

Operational Excellence

· Execute and improve 5S and TPM routines within the department.

· Develop departmental KPIs and OEE metrics to drive performance visibility and improvement.
