Overview

We are seeking an accomplished Director of Project Execution to lead the delivery of large, complex capital projects from early development through commissioning and start-up. The successful candidate will drive excellence in project execution, governance, and stakeholder management across multi-disciplinary teams and partner organisations.
This leadership role requires deep experience in major capital project delivery, integrating engineering, procurement, construction and commissioning functions to achieve schedule, budget, and quality objectives. The role spans both greenfield and brownfield project environments.
 

Key Responsibilities

Project Leadership
  • Lead execution of major capital projects from concept hand-off through operational readiness.
  • Establish and implement best-practice project execution frameworks suited to both new build and existing-site projects.
  • Support commercial and contractual strategy, including coordination with external partners and key stakeholders.
  • Serve as the primary point of accountability for scope, schedule, and budget performance.
Execution & Delivery
  • Oversee engineering, procurement, construction, and commissioning activities.
  • Manage contractor performance and interface management across multiple workstreams.
  • Ensure robust project controls, change management, and risk management processes are applied consistently.
Team & Stakeholder Leadership
  • Build and lead high-performing project delivery teams encompassing engineering, planning, construction, and regulatory functions.
  • Foster collaboration with operations and maintenance functions to ensure that completed assets are safe, reliable, and efficient.
  • Maintain clear, timely communication across internal leadership, external partners, and regulatory stakeholders.
Financial Oversight
  • Develop and manage capital project budgets ranging from tens of millions to large-scale investments.
  • Oversee cost control, forecasting, and value-engineering processes.
  • Uphold disciplined project governance and reporting in line with corporate and audit standards.
Compliance, Risk & Quality
  • Drive adherence to all relevant health, safety, and environmental standards.
  • Identify and mitigate project risks, particularly those relating to construction interfaces and live-site operations.
  • Ensure compliance with applicable permitting and regulatory frameworks.
 

Qualifications

Education
  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Chemical, Mechanical, Civil, or related).
  • Master’s degree in Project or Engineering Management is preferred.
  • Professional certifications (e.g., PMP, AACE) are advantageous.
Experience
  • 15–20 years’ experience in major capital project delivery within industrial, infrastructure, or energy sectors.
  • Proven success managing complex projects exceeding USD 50 million in value.
  • Strong understanding of EPC/EPCM contract structures and multi-disciplinary coordination.
  • Background in both greenfield and brownfield execution environments.
Skills
  • Strong command of project controls, cost and schedule management, and contractor oversight.
  • Excellent leadership, negotiation, and stakeholder-management capabilities.
  • Detail-oriented and highly structured approach to project governance.
  • Ability to thrive in high-pressure, multi-stakeholder settings.
Preferred Background
  • Experience with modularised or fast-track project delivery.
  • Familiarity with large-scale industrial project execution in the Asia-Pacific region.
  • Exposure to licensor coordination and technology-integration programs.
