Project Engineer

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead civil engineering projects from initial concept through final completion, including preparing reports, documentation, and technical specifications.
  • Coordinate efforts among project teams, engineering staff, contractors, vendors, and other stakeholders to ensure quality standards and organizational interests are upheld.
  • Serve as Project Leader, offering technical guidance and oversight across all phases of assigned projects.
  • Monitor project timelines, budgets, and deliverables to ensure compliance and recommend changes as needed.
  • Review construction materials and submittals for compliance with standard specifications; assist in developing engineering standards and procedures to optimize water system performance and regulatory compliance.
  • Maintain and update hydraulic models used in engineering planning and design.
  • Provide support to senior engineers in daily operations and project execution.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering.
  • Professional Engineer (PE) license.
  • 4–8 years of progressively responsible experience in civil engineering project management, preferably in public works or water utilities.
  • Equivalent combinations of education, training, and experience may be considered.
  • Proficiency in civil engineering principles, project management, capital construction, and contracting.
  • Skilled in GIS/CAD mapping software.
  • Familiarity with industry standards, safety regulations, and best practices for municipal water systems.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
