A leading energy transition company is seeking a Senior Director of Business Development to play a pivotal role in shaping and executing its growth strategy. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Own and drive end-to-end M&A transaction execution for utility-scale solar, storage, and other  infrastructure acquisitions -  from initial screening through close.
  • Lead strategic origination efforts, identifying and prioritizing new investment opportunities aligned with growth objectives and portfolio strategy.
  • Serve as a senior decision-maker on deal structuring, risk assessment, and investment thesis development, presenting recommendations to executive and board-level stakeholders.
  • Oversee and mentor junior team members through the underwriting process, including project financial model construction, validation, and sensitivity analysis.
  • Lead or co-lead negotiation of offtake agreements, PPAs, etc
  • Manage complex due diligence processes in coordination with internal functional groups and external advisors, ensuring thorough risk identification and mitigation.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with development, legal, finance, and engineering teams to advance late-stage controlled assets through final investment decision.
  • Represent the company in external forums, investor conversations, and industry relationships to build profile and deal pipeline.

QUALIFICATIONS
  • 10+ years of professional experience, with significant tenure in M&A, project finance, or business development within the utility-scale renewable energy sector.
  • Proven track record of leading complex transactions from origination through close, including utility-scale solar, storage, and/or digital infrastructure acquisitions and portfolio deals.
  • Experience operating at a senior level with direct exposure to executive and board-level investment approval processes.
