Technical Expert / Project Manager – High-Speed Rail

Location: France (on-site as required)

Start Date: ASAP

Project Context:

This role supports the delivery of the LGV Bordeaux–Toulouse high-speed line, a strategic extension of France’s national LGV network. The expert will be embedded within the project to provide high-level technical oversight and ensure compliance with national and SNCF standards.

Candidate Requirements

Minimum Qualifications:

Degree in Civil Engineering, Railway Engineering, or related discipline

15+ years of professional experience in rail infrastructure

Proven experience in high-speed rail projects, ideally within the French network

Key Technical Competencies:

High-speed rail systems (HSR) design and implementation

SNCF infrastructure standards and operational practices

Rail signalling systems (including ERTMS, TVM, or other applicable SNCF technologies)

Telecommunications systems for railway applications

Track systems, alignment, and interface with rolling stock

Civil engineering as it relates to rail infrastructure (structures, earthworks, etc.)

Project and Stakeholder Management:

Experience working in multi-disciplinary teams on large-scale rail infrastructure

Ability to interface with government bodies, SNCF, contractors, and design consultants

Fluent in French (spoken and written); English proficiency preferred for international coordination

Role Objectives:

Support the successful delivery of the LGV Bordeaux–Toulouse project by providing expert guidance on engineering and systems integration

Ensure all works under the consultant’s remit align with SNCF technical and safety requirements

Contribute to risk analysis, technical reviews, and design validation processes

Participate in tender technical clarifications and interface with project governance bodies as needed

Assist in the coordination between design, construction, and operations stakeholders to secure project milestones
