Position Description
Join our dedicated team where we are involved in the delivery of civil engineering services from feasibility through
construction stage across a wide range of electricity infrastructure projects supporting strategic objectives of
decarbonising electricity, building resilient infrastructure and empowering clients.
The portfolio of work will include new build projects, remedial works to existing assets and the development of new
Renewable energy projects in Ireland and abroad. The portfolio will encompass buildings, power stations, electrical
infrastructure, and large macro-infrastructure such as dams. The team specialises in:
• provision of civil, drainage and hydrological technical engineering services in the delivery of project works
packages.
• Designing surface water drainage systems for developments in urban and rural settings including the
appropriate use of sustainable drainage systems (SUDS).
• Carrying out Flood Risk Assessment and hydrological studies (e.g. Section 50 Applications).
Key Responsibilities
• Demonstrate a commitment to safety and quality in all aspects of your role.
• Provide civil, drainage and water engineering technical services and design capability from concept to
detailed design to procurement and the delivery of engineering works.
• Manage and co-ordinate all relevant civil, drainage and water engineering and associated disciplines’
activities required to successfully deliver projects to approved scope, budget and programme including
the management of civil works contracts.
• Ability to carry out site inspections, arrange surveys, analyse information gathered, and to produce
effective drainage designs.

• Coordination with other disciplines, working in a proactive way to deliver high quality projects to the
client’s satisfaction.
• Ensuring all planning permission and licensing conditions are complied with and liaison with all relevant
statutory authorities and other stakeholders.
Knowledge, Skills and Experience
Essential
• Minimum 7 years relevant experience.
• Developed a strong technical capability, in civil, drainage and water engineering design and competence
to deliver civil/structural, drainage and water engineering packages.
• Experience in the use of specialist software in hydrological, hydraulic or drainage modelling.
• Demonstrated a strong capability in assessing, communicating and managing project critical technical
risks.
• Demonstrated a record of successfully managing significant projects or aspects of significant projects.
• Demonstrated a strong capability in report writing.
• A ‘can do’ attitude in all dealings with internal and external stakeholders.
Desirable
• A strong commercial and project management capability.
• Experience of the management of surface and/or ground water contamination will be an advantage.
• A strong ability to identify project work requirements and to initiate necessary work with limited
oversight.
• Experience in performing PSDP/PD role on projects.
Qualifications
Essential
• Full driving licence and access to a car.
• Level 8 Civil Engineering Degree or equivalent qualification.
Desirable
• Level 9 Engineering Degree or equivalent qualification.
• Chartered status in a recognised professional engineering institution.
However, travel to project locations as required is a key requirement of the role.
Hybrid working will be a feature of this role, combining remote working with attendance at base for in-person
collaboration for up to 2 days per week, subject to ongoing review.

Expenses incurred for business travel - that are not normally incurred by the successful candidate in their normal
place of work - will be reimbursed.
All travel and accommodation expenses shall be agreed in advance with the line manager.
Claims for reimbursement of approved receipts must be via the contractors agency.
Mileage rates in respect of journeys carried out will not apply.

Quarter 1 2026.
Duration
Twelve months.
Safety
Contractors must comply with all Health and Safety Regulations and requirements pertaining to the
location where they are working and must comply with all directions and instructions from their
designated line management.
• Contractors shall wear full PPE, including Arc-resistant where required.
• Steel toe boots compliant with S3 EN ISO 20345.
• Safepass and manual handling training
• Contractors shall be provided with an unbranded hard hat and ear defenders where required.
• This PPE will be provided by suppliers but without any identifiable Logo.
• The PPE to be provided by client does not include safety boots, gloves and eye protection. These are
standard items that contractors should have at their cost.
• Contractors must have up to date SafePass and manual handling training.
Other Requirements
The successful candidate must have use of a personal ‘phone, laptop/PC and internet facilities, and must be
equipped to fully engage in a professional manner during the course of the engagement.
